Location and setting
Bed was rock hard, room was freezing cold, complained to the hotel, acknowledged by reception staff and not been responded to by anyone since! Very poor service and not somewhere we would recommend!
Usually a good place to stay, quiet with two restaurants on site.
Having booked an executive room, which was spacious and quiet, I walked into the room to be hit by an overpowering stench of polish, which got into my sinuses. After complaining, I was moved to a smaller room which was then fine. I was not impressed by the managers attitude over the matter. A load of general niggles small things adding up- room service forgets to bring knife and fork or sauces/etc, online menus out of date and no info the room. It is a shame because in the past I had many excellent stays but have noticed recently last year or so it is not as it once was. Rooms and decor are tired. I have since avoided this location and gone elsewhere where standards are higher and now in my view makes this place over-priced.
The room was very spacious, clean tidy. Staff where friendly and helpful. There seemed to be plenty of parking although i am not sure how busy it was. Cooked breakfast was a buffet style and although don't usually find this delivery of breakfast to be satisfactory (find this a lot in larger hotels), this was in fact very good. The bar seems to be separate from the hotel but the food and drink selection was very good and the food good quality pub grub.
Having to walk across to the bar in the rain, accommodation was a little dated and it wasn't that clear where the hotel reception was in amongst the ad-hoc layout.
The room was very clean, the bed was comfy and everything was in good condition. I used the gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. I ordered room service for dinner as I was travelling alone for work.
The only thing I could say I didn't like, it was a bit noisy outside my room when people walked down the corridor and there was a door into another corridor outside my room which was squeaky. It wasn't a big deal though.
No problems with the hotel. Staff were very helpful. Dinner menu was limited choice but we found something acceptable on it.

Very less water kept in the room
Room was pleasantly decorated and the bed very comfortable. Generous supply of tea and coffee.
Evening meal was average. Generous portion size and well presented by quite bland to taste.

A large sign indicating reception is needed. Tried two entrances before finding the very nice helpful receptionist.
