Property is not as "pretty" as shown in the pictures, original room didnt have a microwave and fridge, new room did have them but it was next to weed smokers and drunks, bad smell on hallways at all times.
The staff and the property were great however the very strong smell of mold needs to be addressed people can get sick. Not wanting to give refunds are a big issue also. If someone no longer wants to stay don’t keep them there by keeping their money
Sketchy
Ice machine did not work and we needed it.
.
Dirty filthy rooms , ripped up carpets , security door broken ,anyone can walk in , staff didnt care , rude and zero customer service , cupboard doors missing , so angry , we cancelled both rooms , driving back to Houston, DO NOT GO TO THIS PIG PEN
Looking at the photos on the website are very misleading. I was under the impression that this was a new hotel because of the “Now Open” sign. Evidently it was just re-opening after being remodeled from hurricane. Unfortunately, the hotel still wreaks of mold and has a pungent odor. The property is also in a sketchy area-glad it was just me and not my family on the trip. I would not have been comfortable with my daughter in the hotel.
Hotel was a mess! Remodeling areas, other areas looked tore apart. Room had a bad odor. No ice, no cups, ask for missing towel, thought I was asking for money! No working ice machine, no breakfast, no coffee in the room, sheets had burn holes I don’t have one positive word for this place
Terrible. Tried to cancel reservations, but no one would answer the hotel phone. We got there and decided to stay since it was out of our way back home. Got to the room...no pillow cases, dirty, and pretty sure I saw bed bugs. Went to cancel our stay, was offered a new room. No manager on-call so they wouldn't cancel my transaction. Terrible all around!
Was told that my room was 70 dollars and some change then when she found out i was paying cash she charged me 71 dollars
No good sevice
This hotel should be condemned. Smell of mold from Hurricane harvey, pool not running, no breakfast, it was a dump.
I've stayed at a few motel 6's in the past and generally had a positive experience but this one needs major cleaning and refurbishing. Parking lot had broken sign poles laying around, Hallways were missing carpeting and had a bad odor, common areas were dirty and cluttered. Pallets of construction material at front entrance, Pool was drained. Clerk/owner hardly answered the phone and was rarely at the front desk. Bed was comfortable but my room smelled bad and the furniture was very old with broken drawers hanging off, curtains didn't close properly and were torn. I would spend a little more and stay somewhere else.

the pillows are not comfortable
Never stayed in the hotel. Made reservations on line got to hotel..no rooms, no power. Horrible experience!!!!!!
It's not a very well kept hotel.
Was pretty surprised it was even located there but i enjoyed my stay!
My husband, two kids and I decided to stay at the motel 6 in Port Arthur 3838 TX-73, Port Arthur, TX 77642 on last Saturday. We pulled in about 10:30. First the smell smacked us in the face at the front door. It was so bad. Checked in and proceeded to our rooms. The place had a strong smell. What we discovered after pulling back the sheets was beyond disgusting, violation against code and just disturbing. There was dried blood, public hairs, and stains on the sheets and mattresses also mold growing on the ceilings. We went down to the front desk to let them know and took the man upstairs to show him. I also told him the smell of the place was terrible and he said it was because the ac was off. This is not true. I have stayed at MANY hotels and the ac is off when you arrive and it does not smell like that. So he then proceeded to show my husband 2 other rooms which were just as bad if not worse! We then told him we were leaving and wanted a refund on both rooms. He told us the rooms where in "acceptable" condition because there were sheets over the blood ( Even though the sheets had blood on them also). We ask to speek to the manager and he said that we couldnt because he was not there and he couldn't call him. After about 30 minutes and telling him that we took pictures and we were recording the conversation he then gave my husband the manager's card who he called Mr. Mike. We noticed that only one of the rooms have been refunded and the other has not. This is unacceptable.
The best thing about the hotel was the price. I had a very rude clerk at check in. I was locked out the room every night I stayed there. They lock the the doors at 9 and even if you go to the desk you have to talk to them at the window he checked my I'd before letting me in the building my room was by the door so I was awaken all night with people fighting with the I assume with the same issue. I was booked for two days and the housekeeping woke me up at 8:30 everyday asking me if I was leaving. There's was no coffee in the room that was a disappointment. I didn't have a good stay at all
$50.00 room, should known better. Not answering the phone when I call the front desk and the phone in the room did not work. The smell in the room was masking a odd odor, plus the door needs tending too (drags the floor). The key card was vey frustrating from the get go. I will spend another $20.00 and avoid this hotel in the future.
