Very beautiful old building in a lovely location, very good breakfast.
Pros:

Room was a little warm due to the extreme weather conditions but a fan was provided.
Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices.
Steam room and sauna were great.

Cons:

Swimming pool was very busy and the changing rooms needed to be cleaned more regularly due to the large numbers of guest using them - there was lots of hair on the floor.

Evening meal delicious and served quickly, shame you don’t do cocktails, guy informed us “we are not a bar”. Breakfast excellent, full English, fresh fruit and yogurt, pastries, cereal, second time visiting and will be back again next year. Massage in spa wonderful and relaxing highly recommend. Review name Philip as husband booked but 3 ladies attended.

Pros:

Rooms need renovation and staff need further training
Pros:

Massages by the team at Imagine Spa were heavenly, and a couple of ladies in that team and the manager who rectified a problem for us were great.

Breakfast was a decent offering and staff there and on the reception were pleasant.

The grounds of the manor are well kept and peaceful. It is nearby a country park which is lovely for walks.

Cons:

Customer service had a lot to be desired from one staff member in the spa and a couple of people working in the restaurant. The service at the restaurant was very unwelcoming and we waited over 10 minutes to be even given a menu while other guests were waited on and we were walked passed several times and ignored. This was not the case for a couple who entered the restaurant after us who were immediately shown to a table and given menus with a warm, friendly welcome. In the end, we left offended by the whole experience and decided to eat in the Ranglewood Inn and the staff there were much friendlier and welcoming.

The 4-poster Heritage room we were given was in need of renovation. There were cracks in the walls, a lot of dust on some of the furniture, the remote control was so filthy we didn’t want to touch it and had to use antibacterial wipes before we felt safe to use it. The windows weren’t cleaned properly either and the sofa had seen far better days.

The spa facilities are basic but the pool, sauna and hot tub were all functioning fine. The mud chamber’s steam didn’t work properly on the first use but we had a repeat of the treatment and it worked much better the following day.

Relaxing
Pros:

Characteristic
Comfortable spacious room
Good value for money
Quiet
The 7 taster meal was delicious
Dining staff were amazing, so friendly, attentive and efficient
The grounds were lovely to walk around
Massive free car park

Cons:

Too many kids in the spa

30 minute massage included walking to the treatment room, asking some questions, left ages to get undressed. This resulted in only around 15-20 minutes actual treatment time. Those 15-20 minutes were great though.
