Location
dirty spa - sewage type water coming out of steam room drain. Mud clumps in walk ways of spa. Slimy pool floor.
Dirty run down room. Water stains on walls. Stains over stools. Mould on bathroom tiles. Broken pipe fixings. Huge dust piles and dirt. Left with bites on both our bodies
Overall the worst hotel we’ve stayed in.
The staff was very friendly and helpful both at the hotel and at the adjoining pub. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was very nice. Lovely grounds for walking our dog and on the whole very dog friendly. Special box for the dog when arriving with a toy, a blanket and a water bowl. If you have anything above a small dog, the blanket and the water bowl are not awfully useful, but there is nothing wrong with them at all for smaller dogs.
Our evening meal at the pub, which we chose as we did not want to leave our dog in the room on her own after having just arrived, left a lot to be desired. My husband had "Hand-battered Fish and Chips". It was clearly not made in the kitchen but warmed up resulting in a very dry both fish and chips. Also not very warm. I had "Breaded Scampi" and found that the scampi were of the reformed kind and again warmed, not made in the kitchen and the chips like my husbands, dry.
Nice room and excellent restaurant.
No walk in shower. We were only there for one night so not a major problem.
The property itself is stunning. A little tired inside but I would certainly stay here again. The bed was so comfortable, room 246, I had a really good nights sleep. Spotlessly clean as well.
Nothing.
Lovely surroundings.
Lovely surroundings and helpful staff.
Meals were of good qiality.
Nothing
Staff very friendly. Large bedrooms. Nice grounds.
The rooms & public spaces are in need of updating. The bathroom needs a walk in shower & a shower head that stays put. Mine kept swivelling. The spa, whilst I enjoyed it, needs new, clean loungers and more frequent cleaning of the floors, it felt grubby.
Nice location not too far from the town centre and a local shopping centre. The spa facilities were an added bonus. Louise on reception was absolutely fantastic. We stayed 2 nights in the coach room. It was small but comfortable and had everything we needed apart from a fridge but they did accommodate us with a bucket and ice. There was a nice lounge are in reception where families sat and played board games.
Spa needs a bit of tlc including new covers for the loungers paint on the pillars. The spa does need more loungers as there are only 6 for such a large hotel they could do with more. Mini Fridges in the rooms are needed
