Convenient to visit family.
Key card stopped working on day 2. Around 6:00am each morning disturbed by really loud scraping noise like furniture being moved.
The room was a really nice space having chosen the king room.
The cost of drinks was overpriced
The location is just is a ten minute drive from pontefract. The look of the hotel is very welcoming.
The reception staff also very polite. The hotel facilities look great. The food in the Jacobean pub is excellent and a great variety and value for money. And the cooked breakfast was absolute amazing.

Doesn't allow dogs to stay so, although I'd love to go back I'm unlikely to.

Staff loud when outside at staff door which room overlooked which woke me up twice in early hours

We had a superior room, which was excellent value for money. It was comfortable and well equipped. The food in the restraunt was a very good standard.
One minor improvement would be improved lighting around the sink unit in the bathroom.
Lovely location, beautiful grounds and plenty of parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good clean shower and nice room.

11am check out would be a bonus, especially when the hotel isn't fully booked, otherwise nothing to complain about.
Would recommend booking into the restaurant, food was amazing, also book the suites for a touch of luxury
Little niggles, due to housekeeping missing little things that shouldn't be missed, missing cups on housekeeping tray, smeared mirrors, sink needed cleaning
Beautiful property with lots of character. Very clean, room was a good size. Staff were lovely, staff member on reception was great, he booked us in to the restaurant last minute and was very informative. Restaurant staff were great also, food was delicious and the restaurant was cosy. Hotel was quiet, we didn’t hear noise from any other guests.
The only downside was the shower, the water pressure was not good. Unsure if this was because of the age of the building or the recent hose pipe bans? However, it was only a minor inconvenience and hasn’t affected whether we would stay again.

On arrival we went to the room and instantly seen a half can of water in the room. The upstairs needs air conditioning as it was stifling hot

Bedroom was stifling hot. Couldn’t keep aircon on all night as was too noisy
View was of the roof and air conditioning unit outside - dreadful.
Food in bar was great but service was very slow - took half an hour for food to arrive.
Fire alarm went off at 11.30pm which woke us up. Went downstairs in our PJs amongst the wedding party but nobody seemed to be taking any notice & no staff about.
Shower door was hanging off.
Vanity mirror was on desk at far end of the room - where there was no light so pointless
Breakfast service was late starting. Became obvious why this was, when we saw there was only one poor member of staff on duty, trying to do everything.
