A good, safe, low key hotel
Pros:

I moved to this hotel because it was good, low key, and above all, the Internet was good.
Close to good cafes and places to eat, close to the palace, and taxis all around.
All in all I was very happy.

Pros:

A little bit old but reasonable ,interesting architecture.Rooms are wide and well furnished ,had no water one morning.... For a down town visite of Dakar a good place to go.Price and value are ok.

Cheat hotel.
Pros:

Safety box was out off order, caffe automatic out off order.
When we checked out in the reception, the officer said, that the room price includes only ONE breakfast
and he charged another price or we must pay Five Breakfast more, because we were five nights there.

Horrible surprise
Pros:

I didn’t stay in the hotel because when arrived I found the hotel not cleaned and not fit for my stay. I didn’t spend any night and tried to contact you without succès to refund my fees penalties deducted. It is not normal to sell something in the net not equal with what you offer on the field. Not serious deal.

Hôtel sympathique, belle décoration, en plein centre de Dakar, et pourtant très calme, avec un restaurant sur le toit, excellent ! Personnel sympathique, attentionné et discret.

Good basic and clean hotel.
Pros:

I enjoyed the spacious room, and the hotel staff was excellent. I have two suggestions that would make the "Racine" a business hotel. The first would be improve the Wi-Fi system by adding some security to it, and add stability by perhaps updating the firmware on the router. This would be a very easy and valuable fix. The location of the hotel is perfect for business, and the rooms are outfitted nicely, but without Wi-Fi I could not work there, and this was disappointing. The second involves the air conditioning unit in my room. It seemed to work itself through different phases of noise, and one of them was so obnoxious that I was forced to use earplugs to sleep through the night. This is actually unacceptable as it leaves me open to risk from any manner of emergency. This being Africa I understand that maintenance on HVAC systems is hard to come by and will be delayed indefinitely, but that is the reason for the Room Comfort score being low.
