I mainly stay there due to the pool which was not heated. Other than that everything was acceptable

I arrived at the yankee inn, I had paid for my room in advance thru booking.com, I use frequently, there was a glitch in the system, was caused my card to be declined I showed the front Carolyn who has my praise she has been a doll,..Anyway she said I was all set and she would look into...
Well image my surprise when at 8pm on Friday I received an email of fraudulent charges on my card coming from Yankee Candle inn, I immediately went to the front desk and ask your agent Mike Preethram, what was going on, he tried to justify swiping my debit 5 times, which in return cancel my card I had 12.00 cash with no access to my bank til Monday due to his action my easter weekend with my grandson was ruined, And heartbreaking to tell him we cant do the things we planned...I understand glitches, but to swipe my card when I showed you proof that my room was paid for confirmation number, yet your agent kept repeating swiping my card...
Now I have to go to my bank on Monday and get a new card, 🙄 just want to make it clearly that Carolyn was feeling so bad for us, she was great..I am very upset and angry that this happened 😢

Pool was closed property wasn't cleared of snow very well staff lied to us about pool got 2 completely different stories why pool was closed. It was a our 49th wedding anniversary very disappointing about pool

I have come to this hotel several times over the past 10 years, I made reservations for the Yankee Clipper Inn several weeks in advance to surprise my girlfriend, I booked a king suite with fireplace and spa. When we arrived the person told me that that room was unavailable because of renovation. They downgraded me to a room that had no hot water, floors were dirty, and it had a funky smell like stale cigarettes. I’m not one to complain but when I asked about refunding me some money to what the room rate was at the time of booking, they told me to stop being cheap and that I got a great rate for the room. I wasn’t wanting the room for free, just wanted to pay the price for the room that I had been switched to. No different than going to a restaurant ordering prime rib, bring you out a hamburger but still expect you to pay for the prime rib. I will never come here again and will most likely file a complaint with the hotel owner/chain about the hotel. Stay away from this place!!!!!! Also, I feel that if you work in the service industry and have to communicate with the public you should know how to communicate in that language. We had a hard time understanding what they were saying.
