Superbe emplacement mais vieillissant
Pros:

Très belle architecture. Magnifique situation face à la plage. Service aimable.
Mais peu de facilités: pas de piscine. Pas de room service après 20:30. Petit déjeuner continental assez basique.
Et état de la chambre vieillissant. Pas de radio. Petite télé. Clim bruyante. Mobilier usagé. Lit moyennement confortable.
Abords très beaux. plage magnifique mais principalement pour familles.

The Best Place To Stay
Pros:

This was our first visit to Punta del Este, and hopefully won't be our last. La Solana was a big part of the experience. The hotel is a stunning piece of mid-century architecture. Guests feel right at home, yet also at one with the ocean and the beach. In fact, it's one of the few hotels directly on the beach in Punta del Este. Opening the patio doors every morning to see the beach and smell the ocean was unforgettable. So was the service. Javier is a true hotelier.

Location, location, location
Pros:

If you want a lovely room right on the beach this is one of the few places in the area that you can walk out the door of your room and step into sand. You do need a car to stay here because there's not much else to do in the immediate area other than to enjoy the absolutely beautiful beach. The breakfasts were great, other meals on the restaurant were good, very clean, and great maid service.
What brought down the review was the fact that the web site said free massage and hot tub, not true, and the fact that the patios right outside the room were very unprivate. We had kids playing on ours during the day.
But we really did love our stay here.
