So many places to chose from in this town. We were pleased with the location, the first floor room, the included breakfast, the price, and the staff. The staff has limited English but very friendly and helpful. The chilequiles with eggs at breakfast were a daily morning highlight. Breakfast between 9-11 was a little strange and inconvenient at times. When we were too tired or far from hotel to walk we used Uber.
We had a two bedroom suite which was perfect for us. It had a fridge, a coffee maker and a sitting area. Perfect for after a day of sightseeing before a night of eating. Good location, close enough to get to the jardin easily. The breakfast that is included is just fruit and bread, but enough for women. Would stay here again.
El lugar es muy agradable, fuimos con una mascota y fue la mejor opción para el perrito
Es un lugar muy tranquilo. Personal muy amable y buena atención.
We stayed here while visiting San Miguel de Allende for the first time. This B&B is located a few blocks downhill from the main square area of where the plaza and church are but not too far. The room we stayed in was nice and well decorated. The bathtub in the room gave us some problem with draining properly. Breakfast was really delicious - it was made to order. My mom and I picked chilaquiles with a fried egg on top. Yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice and bread with jam was also included. Very filling and tasty. Overall, a pleasant stay and San Miguel de Allende is a really cute little town. Loved it!
Although this is a B&B, there is a public restaurant. As I was taking one of my extensive walks around town, I saw a sign for breakfast. I usually avoid empty restaurants, but the courtyard was pleasant and it was a late morning time that I arrived. My breakfast was excellent, an omelet with Spanish sausage and cheese, toast, jam a a great smoothy. The general manager, Tony, was gracious and helpful. I highly recommend.
Not a lot of amenities but they do allow dogs which is nice (although not in the eating area). The bed was big and comfortable, although my pillow had a weird stain on it (looked like coffee), although it was clean. The sink is super small, and that is the one change I would make. You can't even sit a piece of soap on it. Priced well also, it is a good value and not far from the action!
The manager of this place, Alma, and the people who work there are fabulous. Alma was born in LA and returned to Mexico at 11. Her English is perfect and she is always helpful and charming. The chef was excellent and good natured. The room is large and clean. The breakfast is excellent with freshly baked bread and marmalades and jams made there. We were traveling with a small dog and the staff and other guests were dog friendly. We enjoyed meeting the other guests at breakfast. The location is a bit out of the way, but we called taxis and often had to pull up a map on our GPS to show the cabs the way back. We would stay there again. The place has good vibes.
I recently stayed there and the place itself is beautiful. The owner and all the staff are very nice and are willing to make your stay the most enjoyable as posible.
The rooms are very cute decorated and bed very comfortable. My only complain will be that we were close to the smoking area and we couldn’t open the window with other getting the smell of someone smoking. But it wasn’t too bad and honestly didn’t mind as the room was very nice and relaxing.
Very close to the center of San Miguel. About 12-15 min walk. And they have the best fig jam I’ve ever tried in my life.
Last year, I had a wonderful experience staying at La Casa de las Conservas for 1 night on a flash getaway to SMA.
Last week, I did the same exact thing. But this time I couldn't find a room in that hotel, so I booked a room in Casa de las Conservas Gold. What a treat!!!!
My wife and I arrived a bit early to the hotel (1 hour prior to check-in) and the hotel's staff checked if our room was already cleaned up so we could rest. No problem with that.
The room was extremely spacious and impeccable. With a nice and cozy terrace overlooking the restaurant area. Inside, a small fridge to keep cold water bottles, sodas or even a wine bottle to uncork and drink in the terrace.
King size bed and lovely typical mexican decoration gave the finishing touches to our bedroom.
Later in the evening, I had a craving for "patatas bravas", a dish not usually in the menu, but very typical to people from Spain. I asked the chef if he could cook them for me, along with a couple of paninis, and he did! A most wonderful room service dinner with exquisite chilled white wine!
Breakfast included? Sure thing! Delightful place to have breakfast and just relax. (I even invited a friend of mine who was casually in SMA that same weekend).
All in all, a great place to relax, unwind, and have a great time, even if it's only a night or a longer stay.
Is it good? I'll just say that I've just booked two more stays with them, 1 for october and the other one for Thanksgiving. Yes, it's THAT good.
I booked my hotel a couple of months in advance through Orbitz. When I got there I was told the hotel was no longer affiliated with Orbitz therefore my reservations were no longer valid even though I had already paid for them in advance. I was tol by the manager that they could give us a room for the night in the roof of the hotel at no charge. We agreed however once in the room we noticed it was roach infested ad without door that locked. We left early in the morning we the promise and word of honor fro the hotel's manager that we would get a full refund. Of course that never happened. To the hotel's manager: Shame of you!! You have no honor!!
Clean room, great service, great location. However, the room only had a screen door so we had no ventalation only a ceiling fan. It was extremely hot and could not sleep. There were no windows since most of the rooms face the courtyard. The restaurant does not open until 9 so if you want and early start you have to get food somewhere else even though it came with our room. The restaurant also closes early
We enjoyed our recent 5 day stay at Casa de Las Conservas Gold. Jorge, Hector, Alba, and Enoch as well as others were all very kind to us. Dinner at the Sugar Mint was excellent - Hector is a great chef! Thank you!
We have eaten at the new location one time and at their B&B three times. Jorge and is mom are simply wonderful hosts. Yesterday, we were simply craving their gazpacho. The soup for the day was Sopa Azteca. Hmmmm. Without missing a beat, Jorge offered to make us up the gazpacho on the spot! Incredible. We added two additional orders por la casa :) In addition to the soup, we had delicious chopped mussels in a bechamel, served in their shells, a wonderful mixed green salad and one truly decadent and dangerous dessert. In the past, we have tried other items ... all good. One of their specialties is paella - several different kinds. We had the seafood one at it was simply delish. In addition, they also jar a number of sauces, jams, spiced salts, etc. which can be purchased to take home. I think this restaurant is underrated. Best to call first, as which location does what can be a bit confusing. For example, the old location now only takes food orders in advance for carry out. Anyway ... awesome, fresh food, and some seriously cool hosts! Gracias Joge y mama!!!
People should be aware that unless 100% sure they won't cancel they can forget their 30% deposit.
I Booked early in October through a well known booking website, ,had to cancel within few days.Got a notification of my cancellation NO CANCELLATION FEE..No matter what I did never got my money back. been told their bank can't make international transfer. How about that .?
La casa de las Conservas charge my credit card within 48 hours after booking but can't proceed withe refund. Frustration , being lied to!
