Holiday Inn Express & Suites Decatur by IHG

Absolutely horrible experience! Front end employee was extremely rude and condescending-she acted like we were inconveniencing her and that she couldn’t be bothered answering our questions.
We often stay at holiday inns and usually like them-but this place was awful. They know nothing about customer service!

Nice atmosphere, rooms clean.

We actually decided to change hotels after check in. Staff was very kind. The hallway leading down to our room had old carpet, walls that were (we assume) being renovated? There were holes being held by tape that was peeling off. The room itself had a very strong musty smell and a few moths flying around. I’m sure Much of that was Out of the control of the management but my family and I would not have been comfortable. Unfortunately next door was a very upset infant so all things considered we just decided to move.

We were not greeted. There were 2 young people at the front desk on their phones. They didn’t look up when people walked in. When I went to the desk to explain our room phone wasn’t working, we’re wet met with a “sorry”-no offer to have maintenance look at it. When we asked for pillows for the pull out we were told they were out. The receptionist said she’d look for some, but as we walked away she sat back down and started on her cell phone again. We never did get pillows.

Hotel was clean and quiet. Beds were not very comfortable and the air conditioner unit made a racket all night. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was standard for IHG and met expectations. Spent one night to break up a long road trip

Decent hotel, friendly staff, overall the hotel appeared clean but in my room the carpet had stains that appeared they could have easily been cleaned, and the chase was dirty. I did not sit on it because if the multiple stains. The bed was clean though.

Good Holiday Inn Express

Had a problem with my card and hotel took $300 extra off my card and general manager will not get back with me and was stuck without money 5 hours from home. Still have yet to hear anything. Still was overall a great stay and clean environment and staff there were very helpful besides gm.

Nice hotel

Room smelled like dogs had stayed there. My daughter thought it smelled like sweat. Spent first part of my stay spraying a can of Lysol empty trying to get rid of the stench. Hotel rooms shouldn’t have carpet because they retain smells. Check-in was fast and friendly. Grounds are well taken care of and there is plenty of parking. If I managed this place I’d be embarrassed.

Room was clean. Mini fridge, microwave and a single cup coffee pot. The ladies behind the counter at check-in were friendly and wanted to help the customers. The morning lady didn’t have the same friendly attitude. Can’t win'em all.

They do have a few plugs for boaters.

Family friendly and welcoming from the start of the phone call for reservations. The receptionists were helpful! Vacationing on our way to the Gulf with 2 adults and a 3yr old. Even though there was only 1 king size bed room left with no couch we had plenty of space. There was a working couch that worked perfectly for our 3yr old. Beautiful facility. Nice amenities. Easy access on and off the highway. Amazing breakfast options. Indoor pool was refreshing since the weather was too cool to swim outside. Easy access to many food options, but close to AL #1 BBQ - Big Bob’s!

Service was great until the one night that I was really resting and the fire alarm malfunctioned at 1:07 a.m. causing everyone to evacuate only to find out it was a false alarm. I understand that I would rather have a false alarm than no alarm at all with an actual fire though. Please hurry up and get that fixed, please!

This was our return trip stay from vacation.We stayed here the week before heading to vacation on 8/13. The 8/13 stay was even worse. We would've changed hotels after the 13th, but rates had gone up significantly.

The 8/20 stay was disappointing because the a.c. unit would get noisy at random intervals. We should've tried to change rooms but were so tired and gathering everything up for just a few hours didn't seem worth it.

The stay on 8/13 was marred by a noisy guests. The staff tried to calm them down, but it was pointless. Rock The South was that weekend and the hotel was filled w/ concert goers.

The combined experiences of the two stays made us decide we won't be staying here again.

The hotel is safe, convenient and the staff is very nice.

Employees were super friendly and helpful. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Pool was clean and so warm! Yummy breakfast. Thanks for a great stay!
