Stay here every time I come to Retford.
The environment was perfect
The food the tomatoes tasted raw.
The grounds around the hotel are beautiful.
The hotel rooms are dated. The bed was uncomfortable. I wasn't impressed. For the money I paid, I was disappointed.
The grounds are beautiful. The breakfast was good.
The rooms are very dated. There was no socket near the bed for my CPap machine, which caused me a problem. The bed was not particularly comfortable. Expected more for the price!
Nice spacious room, plenty of parking.
Wanted us to pay an extra £20 to be able to checkin at 12noon rather than the 2pm arrival time, which to aligns the hotel with the likes of Ryanair, and we were attending a funeral and the wake was being held in the hotel. Plus we would have had lunch there. Instead it was cheaper to drive into central Retford park at a pay and display and have lunch than pay the extra £20.
We also had dinner in the hotel later on which wasn't really up to standard.
Lovely hotel very comfortable beds & spotless, staff very helpful plenty of parking spaces
Only downside is no lift for Frist floor but did not put us off
Lovely gracious hotel, plenty of parking, very close to market place centre of Retford which is a very interesting and pretty little town! Plenty of places to eat / shop. Hotel dinner was excellent.
Really no issues; all good thanks.
Used to live in Retford , was flying over from USA and cousin recommended west Retford as we came for a funeral ! Very welcoming , comfortable and friendly! Excellent power shower and toiletries included! Loved the bed too !
Nothing to report
The hotel was slightly dated, however the room was a great size and relatively cool, on a hot night.
The cooked breakfast was the poorest part. I suspect it had a precooked and waited in the kitchen for a couple of hours and it was still very greasy.
Nice room & bathroom but perhaps overall hotel decor a little tired but this did not detract from comfortable stay. There are very nice gardens and we enjoyed a light lunch and drink under shade there as arrived a little early for check in - most welcome in extreme heat of the day.
Breakfast on first day was omelette Arnold Bennet - a real treat.
Nothing really but disappointed that the served breakfast menu, in addition to the continental buffet, was not available on our second day (Sunday) although the buffet hot food was fine, it was much more limited.
The hotel is in a good position, close to the town and with easy access to the A1. It has extensive gardens and a lovely terrace at the back. Good bar and restaurant with friendly staff and a varied menu. The room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was also a good size with a bath.
Nothing that I can think of.
There is nothing to dislike about the Best Western Hotel, every thing was just perfect.
Norhing
Walkable to town
Rooms too hot and not able to open windows. Fan was provided .
