Ideal area
No bar or evening meals , or cooked breakfast, just continental.
Room was pleasant and clean with some nice touches, ie kettle, tv that works and fan in the room. Bathroom nice and spacious.
Breakfast was ok, plenty of variety for a continental breakfast, cereal, croissants, toast, crumpets, yoghurt etc. with juice and tea and coffee.
Parking great.
Lighting in the room was poor, not many of the lightbulbs were working and most that did were flashing. I was going to report this on checkout, but there was not a member of staff on duty.
The location was good
I think the pics on their website were taken many years ago. Stains on carpet, shower was scalding and if you try to add more cold water then the flow of water was restricted to a mere trickle! There was tissue paper stuffed in an airing vent?? I booked a premier room but this was anything but!
Everything was amazing
The room a bit small
Plenty of parking across the road. Nice old building.
The room was very dirty, with visible dirt and cobwebs. The carpet had clearly not been vacuumed in several months maybe years?! As someone who is not very good at cleaning or keeping a clean a house myself, I dread to think how long it must take for dust to get that thick on the carpet. There was also a line of ants in the bathroom.
Not a lot, looks a lot better on the pictures. It is old and run down, needs some maintenance to say the least. Experienced two rooms, both with questionable DIY fixes etc.
The car park is an utter joke to! So if you have a nice car you care about, avoid this place.
The potential to be really nice, but the owners clearly do not want to spend money on improvements.
First room smelt damp & mouldy, fridge present but not even turned on?! Cracked glass in bathroom window, paint peeling off most walls, awful shower curtains in both rooms (we swapped room) as yes, it was really that bad!
I could go on, but is there any point…..
I was unaware that the door to my room was under five foot high. Not a good fire escape if it was needed especially because I'm 6'4"
it was difficult to plug my charge into the socket due to the being located too close to the floor
and room was invested with ants
Nothing. Driving away was the best part.
Nothing. It looks nothing like the pictures within booking.com
Stains on all surfaces and carpets. Not fit to house a dog.
Nice room.
No bar/restaurant, car ride to get something to eat. We used ubber eats
Historical buildings
Needs a major refurbishment
I didn’t have breakfast there because I was in a hurry but the staff were very friendly and were happy to help with any issues that we raised.
New bedding
I booked it last minute I was limited for options.
Upon entering my room of the the hotel I noticed a few ants around on the sides and on the counters. As it was only a few I could accept this.
Once waking up in the morning I was shocked to see the amount of ants over the bedroom entering my bag.
I reported this to the man at reception and his response was ‘no one has complained about that before’ I then said we can go visit the room if he didn’t believe me but he disregarding my offer. he clearly could not be bothered and didn’t have a care in the world. If he can’t be bothered doing his job I suggest he should find a job he enjoys more.
The photos seem to be very ‘put on’ we arrived and were only there for about 30 minutes before leaving and moving to stay at different hotel.
The rooms are very dated and the general area did not feel safe or looked after.
We had been given an upgrade, and if the room we got was an upgrade I would hate to see the original room I had booked.
Nice big room. Convenient for visiting family in nearby village
No hot water. Room 9 could be opened when locked by pulling the door handle. We were only there overnight and didn't realise till the morning. Wouldn't leave any valuables in there.
No bar, No restaurant. Dated room a bit of redecorating would improve it lots.
Nothing
Im not sure how anyone rates this place, looks nothing like the website, whilst its obviously an old building its really run down and scruffy. Bar was closed on a friday evening.
Car parking - location
Dated interior- breakfast range - limited
