I stayed for one night with my little dog and had a great experience. We were upgraded to an executive room, which was spotlessly clean and comfortable. While some might describe the hotel as a little dated, I would say it has a vintage feel, full of character and warmth.
The staff were all genuinely lovely and welcoming—my dog especially appreciated the thoughtful arrival treat! I also loved relaxing on the soft leather sofas in the bar area, which added to the cosy atmosphere.
The pool was another highlight; the booking system works really well to prevent overcrowding.
A big thank you to the Webbington team—we’ll definitely be back!
The hotel itself is ok and the staff are very nice too. But the food in the restaurant is terrible. I have had quite a few dishes and they seem to have the ability to make every one I have had horrible. My latest fish and chips. The fish was watery and tastless, covered in a thick batter which was crispy on the outside, but a thick layer of uncooked batter on the inside. The worst fish and chips in weston super mare, probably the world.
Having stayed here a few times, I found the hotel to tidy and clean. The staff are very friendly, including Hollie and Kat.
My mum just had her wedding here, we stayed for the whole weekend and wow!!!! The service, staff, especially Miro and Scarlett, was absolutely amazing! The wedding was absolutely beautiful, the treatment we had was 5 star! The coordination and the way the staff worked together was incredible, we are all amazed with absolutely all of you x
Excellent for exploring Somerset!
Comfortable and casual atmosphere with lovely front desk service.
Rooms are dated and the bed wasn’t to our liking but the pillows were good. The carpet was need of a good cleaning.
We enjoyed the pool and noted that although dated, there were adequate shower facilities. Robes and slippers would be an asset there.
The food in the dining room was excellent with great gf choices. Dining service was attentive and pleasing. The view is fabulous.
You get what you pay for.
My girlfriend and I, throughly enjoyed our stay here. We made the most of their huge gym, the sauna and steam room. Unfortunately we couldn’t use the pool as we didn’t have swim wear but it seemed a decent size for the amount of people allowed in it. The buffet breakfast was delicious and had all different breakfast items along with items you could request to be cooked for you. The food from the restaurant at night time was really good and for a reasonable price.
We also got upgraded to an exclusive guest room which was a lovely surprise.
Overall it was a lovely stay for a Valentines weekend.
The location is lovely we had a room overlooking the Mendip hills in the main part of the Hotel. We just wanted to relax so the location and Spa were ideal for our needs.
If you wanted to go out for the nearby its ideal for travelling to Wells Cheddar.
The Staff are amazing so helpful and friendly and go out there way to help you would highly recommend staying here we have for the last four years running as we love the Hotel.
We had a superior room with a balcony it was fantastic a really big room with its own hallway and a separate door to the bedroom.
Check in was easy the receptionist are all lovely and helpful same with checkout.
Well where do I start? It's a great shame because it has such potential for greatness but falls very short. The staff are friendly and polite is the good thing. The layout is really confusing, lots of stairs with no lifts.
The worst thing was the food, or lack of it. For it to boast it is one of the best restaurants for miles must mean it's the only restaurant for miles. There were only 2 very basic choices for mains (both very odd and both vegetarian) and the rest were pub classics which were very poor too. The burgers were cheap thin ones, the next night hoping for better we had the "authentic" chicken curry which was clearly out of a can, bland and tasteless and even dried/ coagulated on top, possibly been under the heater for a long time. We left most of it.
The breakfast choices were ok but the scrambled egg was rubbery. We left most of that too.
The rooms, old and dated with paper thin walls. you can hear clearly the neighbours TV, snoring and other such noises very clearly.
The swimming pool was ok but small, the weirdest thing being have to walk through the gym (with wet feet on carpet) in your swimsuit, infront of all the people in the gym, to the difficult to find sauna and steam room (which i gave up looking for).
Also the bar closed early, which is unacceptable for a hotel. Not only closed but pulled some noisy ugly shutters down in the room, not just over the bar, which really kills the ambience, which it had little enough of in the first place.
I was told in it's hay day it was magnificient. I do hope for it that it finds new management or owners that make better choices. First thing to tackle is the menu and food in my opinion.
This hotel has lots of character and I think that is a highlight. The staff are also super friendly, which is good.
Rooms are adequate, bathroom was a good size though the whole hotel feels like it needs a bit of updating .
Regards to food, this is the only thing that let the hotel down for me. There is not a lot of effort put in with presentation. The one thing that really lets it down, are the salad garnishes.
These consist of limp iceberg lettuce, with a couple of bits of pepper and tomato that are not presented well. It would make such a difference if nice salad leaves were served. I ate lunch and dinner here and was disappointed with both. The calamari had no flavour and served with a limp side salad wasn’t good. The red slaw had no flavour and did not taste good. The pate was ok, but again let down by the presentation.
The breakfast was very basic, but enough .
I would not recommend this hotel for food, but accommodation is nice.
The pool is small but nice, but in order to access a steam room and sauna you need to walk through the gym in your swimwear which isn’t ideal.
We stayed here for one night for a family birthday. From the point of telephoning to enquire right through to checking out we could not fault the staff. Kat and Hollie were friendly, helpful and really professional during my enquiry and booking phone calls. Amanda checked us and again was super helpful, warm, welcoming and extremely professional. We used the pool, sauna and stream room - all of which were clean and well maintained. The hotel is well located for visiting Weston-Super-Mare Grand Pier, Axbridge, Cheddar Gorge and Wooky Hole Caves. We would definitely stay here again.
4th visit to Webbington for a special birthday. Didn't dissapoint had a lovely chilled time 🙂 Just what we needed after a busy weekend. All staff were helpful, room was fabulous, clean and comfortable food was delicious.
We have just come away from a 2 night stay at The Webbington Hotel and sadly we will not be returning 😢
I would love to because it is a fantastic location for walks.
The Hotel is located in a fantastic area for some brilliant walks which we done but The Webbington does not attract "The Walker" like many other country Hotels do.
It is dated and in need of modernisation but the layout is quite quirky and appealing. If only the bar and restaurant area were updated I am sure it would attract more people for a drink and a meal.
The leather sofa's in the bar area are truly awful and if they had some more modern relaxing chairs and table this are a would be superb and more flowing... instead it feels like a waiting room at the dentist.
The room was adequate with a nice bed, although it could have done with a decent clean. A few cobwebs and sweet wrappers didnt bother me. Although they didnt clean the room or refresh toilet rolls, tea making during our stay and had to ask for a replenish of stocks.
On the plus side all the staff were friendly and polite. Very nice people 👍
The food was poor for the money you have to pay for an evening meal so night 2 we went to a local pub.
Breakfast was poor and cold with no hot plates.
Sadly as I've said we will not return to this Hotel as it was poor and there are plenty of better alternatives nearby to enjoy the walks again in the future.
A very dated hotel. Staff were individually all pleasant but there is clearly no business plan to encourage a high level of customer service. And it is this lack of corporate message and desire to put the customer first that disappoints.
Our spa day was cut short due to another event taking place that evening so we only had until 2pm not 6pm as planned to use the facilities. This was not communicated to us before arrival. We could have arrived earlier if we had known.
Layout of pool/gym/sauna is off putting in that you have to walk from changing room thro the gym in swim wear. This is not relaxing or comfortable.
Female Changing rooms are tiny and only hold about 6 people.
There are only 2 showers but both are behind one door so there is no privacy.
In the bar our empty tea cups took over an hour to be cleared away from our table
The bar was never staffed unless we rang for them.
Bar staff served bottled beer and did not offer a glass.
Panini on the menu was in fact a cold baguette.
The bar area was cold.
This hotel needs a huge makeover and intense staff training in hospitality. It’s in a great location with tons of potential but there is no leadership steering it in the right direction.
Hotel is in a great location for walking. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. A few reviews mention the steam and sauna and the fact you have to walk through the gym, you do indeed. This is a little weird but if you are only using gym and the steam/sauna, you can use the changing rooms located next to the steam and sauna.
The bedroom was very comfortable and clean and overall the hotel is good, dated but with character.
The restaurant was a disappointment though, limited menu and food on the evening was not great, the breakfast however was very good. Can only assume that it was a different chef on the evening, but we were very disappointed with the evening meal.
Really wasn't expecting much after reading some reviews but we were all pleasantly surprised. All very clean and tidy. Lovely welcome from reception staff. Room, a little dated but again very clean. Bed, very comfy. Good facilities including phone, TV hot drink station and nice bathroom. There was noise from bedroom above( sounded like Riverdance at 2am!) Dinner- not a lot of choice due to being NYE eve but food was good. Breakfast- delicious. Able to order eggs etc how you like them . Staff super helpful.
Didn't use leisure facilities but looked great. Great base for visitng local area. All in all a great stay and would definitely stay again.
Beautiful location
Easy access to Bristol
Good value for money
Booked directly so got a bargain
Very good gym
Ample parking
Webbington hotel, As a large group attending a party night. Costing £55 each. Really poor food, that was served cold and of poor quality, hard potatoes, poor service and rude staff when complained. The circus show was embarrissing to watch with amature performances that woud had seen better days at a holiday camp. To top it all, no tea/coffee service at the end of the meal. Only a large metal canteen style ern to help yourself. Overall, a poor service, poor value for money in a very run down old fashioned hotel that had seen better days. Certainly would not be returning anytime soon.
Needs to be refreshed. Floor boards creek in room above. Soft furnishings need updating to ensure curtains actually cover the window size.
Internet not great in the room.
To go for a sauna you have to walk through a gym with people working out!
Noise from outside the room- terrible. Can hear everything!
Staff need to be aware of scams with reference to best western- don’t feel that any help or advice was given.
Ok, so yes - the hotel is not a modern one with 21st century decor. It has lots of stairs and is thus not manageable for those with restricted movement. But it has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and I prefer the dark wood charm. The hotel also has a vast car park, and all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms were clean and spacious, and the view from my room across to Brent Knoll with The Quantocks and Exmoor in the distance, was one that I would never get anywhere else.
Breakfast was great with an incredible selection of food, and dinner was excellent too.
I was here for two nights with my immediate family celebrating my golden wedding anniversary, and could not have picked a more relaxing location.
Nightmare place to get too.
Took me 1.5 hours from Nailsea .
Awful looks so close to motorway but it’s not .
Rooms are cold but they gave me a heater .
No lifts .
The staff are lovely .
But avoid getting here in the dark .
