A promising arrival with a disappointing ending.
Pros:

On arrival, we were greeted with a warm welcome. After a long travel, myself and my son were tired and hungry. A quick check in and the option to order food to our room was just what we needed. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast the next morning was basic but again, had what we needed to set us up for the day.

Cons:

Everything was going very well until 2.15am when I was woken up by some very loud noises. Guests that I'm assuming had just returned back to their rooms. There was continuous shouting and these guests in particular were clearly fighting. This continued for a good few hours. I understand guests returning back in a certain way can not be helped or avoided by hotel staff but what disappointed me the most was the lack of involvement by the staff to settle this issue. I admit, I didn't ring reception to voice my concerns but to be completely honest, I was scared. As a woman staying in a hotel with her child, no other adults with her, I was already quite nervous at an over night stay in a different country. There is no way the hotel staff did not hear what was going on. The guests were shouting out their room window at one point. My main concern was trying to shield my son from all of this and ensure he at least felt safe.
All we really needed, at most that night, was a good night sleep to prepare us for a busy day ahead. Its a shame, because of hotel staff not having any concern for the other guests, this didn't happen.
I'm also very confused about the £50 pre authorisation fee the hotel takes from guests cards. I was under the impression that the money would not be physically taken from my account but that it would be held and returned on check out. I've since been informed that it could take up to 14 days to be refunded. This is very disappointing!
