Dog friendly but needs some refurbishment.
Pros:

Super dog friendly which is great and given a ground floor room. The gardens are lovely and the restaurant was outstanding, we had a birthday meal there one evening, it was faultless.

Cons:

In need of refurbishment, rooms very dated all needed a bit of TLC however it was clean, housekeepers were trying their best.

We visit often, but first time in room 36

Cons:

As you will see there is no big negative but the cleanliness in room 36 could be much improved due to gather dust on furniture and in particular at the base of the bed. The reason there is no big negative is because the unite carvings are difficult to clean for obvious reasons, a simple deep clean on the room would make it much improved. There was also a lightbulb that did not work and the electrics went off on the ring main but were corrected quite quickly with a smile.

Lovely stay in a very welcoming historic hotel
Pros:

Very friendly staff , excellent evening meal in the restaurant , love the architecture of the main building and the wood panelling in the bar area . Lovely gardens and very pet friendly .
