The location was great. The beds were comfortable & The grounds were beautiful. The breakfast was great, the woman in the breakfast room was great at her job she knew every morning our tea/coffee order. She made us feel very welcome.
The room we were in was for 3 people & only had one accessible plug so we had to unplug the jug just to charge 2 phones. Then the hair dryer was tied into a draw in the desk so we had to sit in a chair right in front of the tv with no mirror just to blow dry our hair. Was not very comfortable at all. I’ve been to many hotels & never seen this. Surely u can charge people’s credit card which people give you when they check in if it goes missing & leave it not tied to a draw? We asked at the desk if we could have a hair dryer the man said there’s one in the room when we told him it’s in a draw he said yeah that’s how it is.
Nice settings and surrounding.
Plenty of free parking.
Free WiFi.
Staff very Good
Food menu can be a bit limited when Functions are on.
It can be noisy with having 5 Function rooms. But I work at busy wedding venue so it didnt affect myself.
Close to the event we were attending
Good parking
Pleasant surroundings helpful staff
Lack of snacks available after restaurant closed
Service and staff excellent
Parents from nearby school using carpark for collection of kids,
Pleasant members of staff & the coffee from the bar.
1.Bed sheet, although clean had a very 'musty' smell from being stored damp or fitted when damp.
2. Room 6, ground floor. When opening the curtains in the morning. Considering the photos displayed online of the wonderful gardens surrounding this hotel, I did not expect to see a large breeze block wall within 4 feet was my window. Nothing else! No wonder the room was dark inside. This room should be a 'last resort' emergency room or a store room.
3. Bath/shower screen water seal has been installed incorrectly (round the wrong way) so water seeps/drips onto the floor. Shower temperature control knob, stiff to use. Shower head continually drops on the rising pole, will not sray in one position.
4. TV remote absolutely filthy and disgusting to touch. Have we not learnt anything from COVID? Had to take batteries out & re-insert them to get it to work.
5. The room is just tired. Wallpaper peeling of the walls. Old furniture & old shower fittings.
The location and grounds
Breakfast was disappointing
We were very impressed with the welcome we received from the staff at Weston Hall last Friday and for all the trouble they went to ensure our stay was the best it could be. They worked as a team - most having worked there for a number of years - were full of good humour, with nothing being too tricky to help with and they were very informative about the property.
Unexpectedly a little bird flew into our room while the window was ajar and left a few little 'presents' on the duvet cover, as a result the team moved us to a nearby room, which was an upgrade, really thoughtful and considerate of them.
It was very hot and busy - great to see local people popping for a drink and/or a meal treating it like their local pub - but your staff remained relaxed, the evening meal we had was absolutely delicious.
Finally, the building and setting were impressive and the history of the property is very interesting. We walked around the beautiful grounds to the woods and the nature reserve at the back, where we saw moor hens and a mother duck with little ducklings swimming happily and undisturbed in the little pond.
We enjoyed our breakfast and again the staff we lovely but could you please provide some fresh fruit to go with the yoghurt at breakfast, as well as some Granola/Muesli along side the other breakfast cereals on offer?
Was where my son had his prom night
The bed. Walls thin so hear lots of noise.
Friendly, comfortable and accommodating
A bit tired and lots of rubbish at the back and needs a general good tidy up
Friendly staff.
The noise all throughout the night, we didn't sleep at all it was awful.
The breakfast was very good. We'll cooked and plentiful
As we are in the higher age bracket it would have been nice to have a lift to our room. A gentleman did carry our case up the stairs after we asked. If we had been staying longer I would have asked for a ground floor room.
