Nice outside, dreadful inside & rooms
Pros:

The building looks nice but thats about it

Cons:

rooms were horrendous walls cracked, plaster hanging off the walls, carpet very old, just very very dated, small rooms on top floor, overpriced

Pros:

Didn't have breakfast

Cons:

The room was too hot. Central heating was on and staff couldn't turn it off after complaining instead they gave us fan which didnt help much because it was a small one. Also food wasn't great

Lovely location, quiet and great staff
Pros:

Friendly staff, lovely gardens and location. First day breakfast was very unfortunately the second day the cooked items had been left under the hot lamps for a long time and both the bacon, eggs and sausage had dried out and over ooked but overal a great stay

Lovely old, quirky building in a great location with pretty gardens just a v small double bed.
Pros:

Pleasant staff, nice sheets, pillows, towels and shower. Bed comfortable.

Cons:

For me, when booking a 'small double' I expected this to be a smaller room with a normal double bed in, not a very small double bed. This wasn't a problem for me on my own but for those in couples found it exceptionally small. Room didn't have any view other than a brick wall outside 😅 but just to sleep and get ready in was perfect.

Nice location and nice traditional hotel.
Pros:

Nice quiet room comfortable beds very clean

Cons:

Had problem with radiators which were so hot and couldn’t turn them down or off. Called reception and they said they would send someone up but they never arrived. Temperature seemed better the next day. Also mentioned to reception when checking out that a non slip bath mat is necessary as the bath is very slippy and both myself and friend both had health problems and were very worried about slipping when using the bath. Also reported to reception that the shower temperature couldn’t be adjusted and was set far too hot. These issues do need to be attended to.

Very disappointing.
Pros:

Location worked for me. The towels were very nice quality.

Cons:

Staff at reception did not know how to check me in.
No warning when booking that there would be events on with loud music until 00:15
No double glazing so unable to sleep with loud music and noise from the smoking area outside my room
Dirty room, poor standard of furniture, bathroom door not on hinges, holes in shower wall.

Would definitely stay there again
Pros:

we had breakfast and dinner during our stay and was more than satisfied. The room we had was maybe a little smaller than what we expected but the bar area more than made up for it.
