There are only a handful of hotels that find a permanent place on a hotelier's bucket list. For me, Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Vadodara, the city's first five-star hotel has always been one of those iconic destinations.

For nearly three years, I had been planning to experience this legendary property. However, owing to professional commitments the opportunity never materialized. As destiny would have it, this June by the grace of my mentor and boss Mr. Gurung who himself part of opening trailblazer in the journey and legacy of this remarkable property. we were finally blessed with the privilege of staying at Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Vadodara. Our boss and his entire team have often shared his treasured memories of Welcomhotel speaking with great affection and admiration. Listening to these inspiring stories made this visit far more than just a hotel stay, it became an emotional journey filled with nostalgia, appreciation and a deeper connection to one of Gujarat's most iconic hospitality destinations.

From the very moment we arrived, the experience reflected the true essence of Responsible Luxury, the hallmark of ITC Hotels. The reception team welcomed my entire family with exceptional warmth and grace. The traditional welcome with elegant stoles, an auspicious tikka and a refreshing welcome beverage immediately made us feel honoured and valued. It was a beautiful expression of Indian hospitality setting the tone for what would become an unforgettable stay.

To our delight we were graciously upgraded to a beautifully appointed suite adding yet another layer of luxury to our experience. The suite was thoughtfully curated with refined amenities an elegant fruit basket and a beautifully crafted welcome cake that made us feel genuinely special. Every detail reflected meticulous care and understated sophistication.

After settling in we enjoyed a delightful lunch at the Cambay restaurant. The culinary offerings were exceptional, complemented by warm and intuitive service. Every interaction with the team reflected genuine hospitality and an unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction. It was a dining experience that beautifully balanced flavor and heartfelt service.

The afternoon was spent relaxing with family creating precious memories within the comfort of the luxurious surroundings. Later in the evening, we enjoyed quality time at the swimming pool where the serene ambience provided the perfect setting to unwind and reconnect.

As exciting as every moment had been, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly dinner at the legendary Peshawri—an iconic culinary institution that has become synonymous with the finest cuisine of the North-West Frontier. Stepping into Peshawri is like travelling through time. Its rustic architecture, earthy interiors, open tandoors and timeless charm create an atmosphere unlike any other. Watching the culinary masters skillfully prepare each dish over glowing charcoal was a true celebration of authentic craftsmanship. Every dish reflected generations of culinary heritage and perfection. The legendary Dal Bukhara, slow-cooked overnight to velvety perfection, the flavorful Paneer Khurchan, and the majestic culinary were simply unforgettable. Each bite showcased the depth, authenticity and timeless excellence that have made Peshawri a benchmark in Indian gastronomy.

What touched us most throughout our stay was not merely the luxurious facilities or exceptional cuisine, but the genuine warmth and heartfelt care demonstrated by every member of the ITC family.

Just an average stay as this hotel property is old and Heritage but staff also looks Heritage at this cost better option available in the city,

Room was net & clean no complaints just restaurant and food quality & food option may change whole experience because Chef & serving staff has experience & they were very humble

Initially, the room given had a garden view but had faulty things, like locker, no warm water. The staff rectified it and helped me move to a better room facing the swimming pool. Food was good and restaurant manager was very cordial. Thankful for free lemonade :))

Everything - polite hospitable professional staff. Excellent food. Restaurant staff were knowledgeable about cuisine - helped in selecting menu. Tastefully designed rooms, lobby, reception.
