Clean room, and clean amenities with lots of activities to do.

The property is outstanding. The beautiful nature around, and the view os breathtaking.

There was no electricity for couple hours, but they were still able to make a good dinner.

Perfect place to stay especially during a long drive! Quick and easy check in

It was a beautiful location with a lot of potential. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it is poorly managed. We were there for 12 days and only had our room cleaned twice. Our room had no TV (as promised on their website) No fridge. Not even a couple bottles of water. When we asked about that the response was that we had booked a Standard room. We've stayed at multiple different resorts in Mexico and Dominican Republic and always had TV, fridge, coffeepot and bottled water. We always book standard or economy rooms.
First time they cleaned was our 4th day and they only did it because the night before we had a swarm of insects coming through a hole in the wall behind the bed! They did not offer us a different room. They sprayed the hole and put tape over it. Promised to do a deep clean the next day. Their definition of deep clean is obviously different from ours. I don't think they even mopped the floor.
A few days later I asked if we could get our room cleaned. The owner/manager gave me a curt nod and was unfriendly for the rest of our stay.
Very disappointed!

Hotel itself was ok. Service was terrible. We signed up online for a night tour and the time listed on the website said 6:30 pm. I did not check the confirmation reservation for the time once in Costa Rica, I just went back to the website. We checked in about 4:30 p.m., hung out in our room and then headed to the lobby at 6:25 for our tour. We were met by Victor who seemed a little uncomfortable that we arrived for the tour. His English wasn't great which would not have been a problem if he had been able to do the tour. He took us out and was reading off tidbits from his phone. He did not locate any wildlife. We spotted an armadillo and a couple of spiders. 45 minutes later (for a two-hour tour) we were back at the lobby. When I sent an email to complain about the tour I was told that Victor was the maintenance manager and that the tour was at 6 and the guide left when we were a "no show". I knew Victor wasn't the guide when he told me there were Toucans every day and when I asked which type he said "grey". I contacted the hotel to ask for a refund of our money and they refused saying the confirmation email said 6 p.m. I sent back a screen shot to show their website said 6:30 and was told they'd let their manager know and see about a refund. Shocking - never heard from them again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Lake Arenal Brewery. Dinner and breakfast were great, the facilities were comfortable and the staff was helpful.

Pretty nature

This is a gem of a resort. Beautiful property well maintained, excellent food and service, and alot to do including pickleball, nature walks, pool tables, hot tub and pool. Nice accommodations for a family of 4 (2 teenagers) where they each hot their own double bed. King size bed as well!! Highly recommend! Owner was super friendly and gave us a history of the area.

The staff was great. Checkin was a little confusing because I had 2 reservations that I needed to merge. But that got sorted out well. The place is generally clean, but a little dated. There are a number of rooms that are out of service. My understanding is that a new investor started just last year and they are working through modernizing the place. For the price it was perfectly fine.

This is a great value and worth the drive.

If you are looking for a beautiful out of the way place that has plenty of nature, this is it! The staff were excellent and very attentive. By the way did I mention the great microbrewed beers! Well worth the scenic drive and a lot less cost than staying in the city. Lake Arenal is a beautiful place and the beer is a bonus!

If you get a chance to stay here, do so. This place was pure magic. ❤️

Pro: excellent restaurant and views. Great common areas

Con: everything about the hotel room. Needs complete and thorough cleaning. Light switches were filthy. Bedding stained and faded. Walls and floors need thorough washing at minimum. fresh paint could go a long way toward a better quality experience

Enjoyed the brewery and the beer tastings. Very lively bar and restaurant with a live Latin band. Fun place to dance and laugh with other guests. The property is a little dated and needs a major upgrade. Good value for a short stay

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Nice view of the lake and convenient to activities. They offer many excursion options including a night hike on the property. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

Room tub and faucets were old. There was no hot water. There were bats and insects in the bathroom

Entertaining hotel in a beautiful setting. Excellent service but definitely rundown. The room was substandard in all regards.
