The Hideaway Hotel

Staff were fine, but they never replied to an online request for a shuttle from the airport.
Rooms are big, AC works, but mattrass is very thin and the shower had a very low pressure.
Ok for PNG standards. Convenient place

We have stayed at Hideaway several times in the last year. It's definitely one of the older hotels in Moresby. The beds are clean and comfortable for the price. The bathrooms are run-down, but functionable. Some of their showers leak constantly, but you only need to ask for maintenance to come tighten the fittings. Last time we stayed, we asked the housekeeping staff to clean the fan and aircon as they were both very dusty. They did so happily. The biggest benefit is the pool to us, which is kept clean.

Close to the airport, clean and convenient. I was there for two nights as Air Niugini cancelled my flight home from overseas twice!!

The rooms need to be renovated

Cost for rooms is equal to PNG experience and expectation. Like a lodge or motel in Australia. Not 3star hotel

It would be great to have papuan food on menu please.
The shower curtain needs cleaning in Room 101 and fridge frosts up and leaks. These are 1st world problems..... am booked in again. 😃

Delayed attendance to issues, especially with room items such as TV settings etc.

No in room coffee/ tea provided. Had to chase them for airport pickup had to wake them for airport drop off. Food awful in general a terrible choice

The confirmed booking was NOT received by the hotel either on Sat or Sunday and my friend, Tracey Yawing was refused her Accomodation at the hotel, this is not good enough and is very bad service, I expect a full refund.

Having no choice but to stay another two nights at these excuse for a resort I was even more horrified then my first today there, found a used condom in my bed sheets are are grubby and dirty and hasn’t been changed toilet with disgusting shower it was filthy dirty and the sink was falling from the wall. Air conditioning should be reclassified as a date as he did not generate any cool air at all during this day
Management had all the excuses under the sun but no answers or responses or I could even move you to another room. Restaurant was her Riffic food was terrible one out of 10 for the food you really do take your life in your hands when you stay at this place. It was one huge mistake coming back here again one that I will never make again. If you want caravan park standard accommodation and food by all means feel free to stay here

This place is incredibly bad the rooms are disgusting there so poorly maintained there unsafe to inhabite. There unkempt sheets and towels are threadbare and have holes in them. The are filthy and the sink is about to collape from the wall. If u value your health stay elsewhere.

Old smelly urine coated carpet, dirty rooms lacklustre staff bad attitudes staff demanding tips old broken air conditioning units, upstairs bathroom has a urine leak that spills on to carpet outside. Would not put my worst enemy up in this s******e. The worst maintained hotel I’ve ever seen in my travels. Don’t even get me started on the bathroom and the creepy crawlies. IF U VALUE YOUR HEALTH STAY AWAY.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms old and poorly maintained. Noisy aircon and struggled to work. Restaurant very average. Rooms over priced for what you get. The whole place needs a serious upgrade.

Great location, older property, could do with a facelift over a few years would be a good idea

Think very carefully before booking this property. The place is a dump and the management are unprofessional clowns. The pool is a giant green slimy swamp. The first room I was in had no hot water and the shower was just a trickle, although the sink in the room had only hot water. The bathroom door auto locked when shut and needed maintenance to come open the door with a screw driver or housekeeping to use a key. A K75 lamb curry consisted of exactly 5 large mutton bones with barely any meat on them. The butter put out for breakfast was rancid and the staff didn't know/couldn't tell/didn't understand. They were unable to generate a correct account on two occasions from reception. On the Saturday night the property was over run with loud fighting drunkards and despite numerous security nothing was done. There was a large noisy fight in the pool area around 1am At 6.45am on Sunday the pool area was littered with empty beer bottles and sleeping drunks including one who was barely dressed. Leaving my room at 6.45am I was harassed by a drunk holding a beer who could barely stand up, security removed him only after i complained. At 6,45am a young drunkard was "pretending"to play the piano (very badly) in the breakfast buffet - hardly a peaceful eating environment- he was apparently the "directors nephew". This place is a disgrace to PNG and is not somewhere any international traveller would want to stay. Pay the extra to stay in a decent property. This place is a dump run by clowns

I have stayed here at least 4 times, and have never been disappointed.

My room was dirty please check rooms before guests arrive and the bathroom mats were dirty haven't been changed. also the smell please clean rooms

Great area, staff are friendly helpful people and I wish to go again

Myself and two friends stayed overnight at this hotel on the way back home after a diving holiday in Milne Bay. We waited almost 45 minutes at the airport before being picked up.

When we checked into the non-airconditioned lobby it took about 30 minutes to be given two rooms. One of our party was lucky and was upgraded to what seemed a nice room on the pool level as he had a disability and couldn't manage the numerous stairs. There are no lifts in this hotel!

The first room my friend and I were given was a no show as the passkey card didn't work. One of the staff got another card but it still wouldn't open the door. So we were given an adjoining room, however there was no running water in the bathroom! Room three was then assigned to us after another 30 minutes had gone by.

What a room! Tiny, dark and smelly. Two extremely low powered ceiling lights was the total amount of lighting, no bedside lights. During the day the window helped, but at night this room was like being in a mine.On one bed the bottom sheet had been joined by sewing two lengths together. The old wall airconditioner rattled.

The bathroom shower sprayed water in every direction except on you, quickly flooding the floor. You couldn't close the shower door when the bathroom door was closed as the two handles collided, great engineering!

There is only one restaurant which is very expensive for a very limited menu choice. There isn't anything nearby as an alternative.For lunch my friend and I were the only customers and it took 45 minutes to be served a pizza and a plate of fish and chips. I must say the grilled fish was quite nice.

Price and friendly staff were the only positives of this hotel. Not recommended.

Big room and clean. However you can see and hear whoever's in the bathroom. Should be closed off instead of the wooden windows
