A good central location for Chartres but room decor is tired and lacks a welcome.
Pros:

great location and close parking. the bed was comfortable and the staff welcoming. The breakfast was really good. Excellent scrambled eggs, the best I have eaten in a hotel.

Cons:

The bedroom smelled of drains. The shower room is small and the space was lacking the welcoming tea/coffee/biscuits and facilities of my next hotel in the uk. (white horse, Dorking). Standards need improving to keep up with modern expectations. I was not shown to my room or helped with bags. Dinner in the restaurant was dreadful. I chose the beef fillet; which most certainly was not fillet as it was full of gristle. Expensive for the quality. I complained to the waitress and nothing was actioned about my complaint. A poor reflection of the professional conduct of the kitchen which further coloured my experience of the hotel.

Perfect hotel but not for all rooms. Guess we were unlucky.

The uncomfortable too small bathroomshower( nr 27) and the loud annoying noice of the kitchen airco or whatever in front of our window all night long.

Idéal pour un petit week-end à Chartres
Pros:

Emplacement idéal à quelques pas de la gare et du vieux centre, avec une vue imprenable sur la cathédrale.
Personnel très à l'écoute, accueillant et arrangeant.
Chambres cosy et propre, avec un lit confortable.
Petit déjeuner varié et copieux.

Cons:

Vu le prix on se sent un peu à l'étroit dans la chambre, et surtout la salle de bain.
Les chambres pourraient bénéficier d'une meilleure VMC pour éviter la condensation car la première chambre qui nous avait été attribuée était extrêmement humide, et sentait le moisi dans le placard. Heureusement nous avons pu être relogés tout de suite par le personnel qui est très disponible et agréable.
