Not a great hotel run down
As a small business owner I hate leaving reviews because I know how damaging they can be to a business BUT in this case I feel this is necessary.
We originally booked at a nearby hotel that was slightly more expensive, but one we’ve stayed at before. As a last minute change we decided to book at 11 Howard, as most of the others in our large group were staying here.
Instant regret, toilet was absolutely filthy at check in (photo attached) our room had a view of garbage (I know it’s NY but yuck) and our “upgraded” room was on the 3rd floor above the nightclub. I overheard staff telling other guests that the third floor is the worst one and they were lucky to be on the 9th. The bass at 2am was so loud.
The hotel is run down, dark and just all around sort of depressing. Once I saw the gross toilet at check in I feel like I just could not relax.
The rooms are tiny which is standard in most NYC hotels, however the bathroom isn’t even large enough for one person to turn around in it. If you’re inside the washroom you can barely close the door.
Check in was a mess, there was a bunch of people just standing around no order, nothing. But the gentleman who checked me in was very nice.
The doormen were also extremely friendly.
Overall will not be staying here again.
Clean room and good staff
The staff was very nice. The rooms were way way too small and extremely overpriced. Sad to say this but my friend booked last minute and got the same room as I did for $280.00 for one night when I paid $1,400.00. Was disappointing for booking ahead

Street noise of party goers to on site night club in the early hours.. but it's NYC so street noise comes with the territory
I stayed here over four times total and have never had an issue until my most recent stay. My party and I both woke up with bedbug bites all over our bodies. Had to report this to Expedia and the health department.
Hotel smells lovely. Rooms are small but that’s typical for NYC.

Gorgeous and perfect location.
Perfect in every way! We were there celebrating my niece’s 18th birthday before she goes off to college. I told them this when they asked what brought us to NYC, they congratulated her and then upgraded us to a luxurious room with a beautiful terrace overlooking the Lower East Side! We had such a magical weekend and I cannot thank the hotel staff enough!

Great location.
Do not be fooled by the branding of 11 Howard — the reality is far from the “luxury” it advertises. My stay was plagued by repeated maintenance and quality issues, made worse by dismissive and unprofessional management.
Our first room was unlivable: extreme humidity, a thermostat and AC that didn’t work, and outlets and lights that failed. After pushing to be moved (with a baby and a large amount of luggage), we were finally relocated late at night. The new room was larger, but had the same humidity issue — hardly an upgrade. On the fourth night a dehumidifier was purchased for us and the reading was 85%.
The most frustrating part was the hotel’s response. The general manager never bothered to reply, and the front desk manager sent a curt, careless email off his phone that made me feel like I was the problem for pointing out legitimate failures. Instead of accountability, I was dismissed as having “high standards”.
At this price point in New York, guests deserve far better. There are countless hotels in this city that actually deliver on comfort, service, and professionalism. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.
The hotel itself was amazing! clean, good location, and great staff. It was easy check in/check out. Would definitely recommend & stay here again!
Perfect
Safe, clean, perfect service, can’t really go wrong
I booked 11 Howard expecting a high-end, seamless stay, but was met with several service failures that made my experience disappointing.
I paid for valet parking but was informed the next morning that I had to walk nearly half a mile with my luggage to retrieve my car due to a street festival. This was never communicated before or during check-in. When I raised the issue, I was told by staff that the manager had authorized a full refund for valet and would follow up with me — but I never received that call.
When I followed up again, the Operations Manager reversed the promised refund to a credit and said there was nothing else they could do regarding the noise disturbances from the thin walls, which made it difficult to get any rest or privacy.
For a hotel positioned as a luxury property, this level of service and lack of accountability was disappointing. I’ve escalated this to corporate but wanted to share my experience for future guests to be aware.
