We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Pods, the staff at The Carbis Bay Hotel were extremely welcoming and helpful from check in right through to check out. The Pod itself was beautiful and well equipped, with lots of extra goodies on arrival which was a lovely touch. The location itself was lovely and so peaceful, it was the perfect place for a relaxing family gathering for a special birthday. We couldn't recommend enough and look forward to returning again in the near future!
We arrive during the storms in early January to be told that the hotel had no electricity and we couldn’t stop. As this was our honeymoon the hotel helped us find alternative accommodation owned by the chain until they were sorted. This issue was sorted later that day and we arrived a day late. The hotel was very willing to extend our honeymoon by the day that we lost. we couldn’t thank them enough. We had one of the sea view suites overlooking the beach. The standard in the room was exceptional, we had a roll topped bath that you could see the beach from which was a treat each evening. The restaurant and the quality of the food was second to none. All the staff that we interacted with were helpful and willing to go the extra mile to give us the best experience ever.
All in all a quality hotel that we would recommend to anybody wanting a relaxing luxury sea break.
We booked for a 5 night stay last Saturday, 24th January. Allocated a room in the main hotel, it was very well appointed with dual aspect windows and a king sized bed.
We had requested a small fridge in which to store some medication but, unfortunately, this did not work.
Mentioning this, and a very slow draining basin, we were immediately offered an upgrade to a Beach Suite which, as the name suggests, overlooked the magnificent Carbis Bay.
On entering, my partner had a tear in her eye, such was the impact this suite has on the senses.
This suite is absolutely breathtaking, roll top bath, walk in shower, beautiful toiletries and the softest of towels.
Into the main bedroom and lounge area, the underfloor heating provided ample warmth, plentiful wardrobe and storage space, sofa, chairs and dressing table along with the king sized bed. And I mustn't forget the 55" wall mounted TV.
But the room was completed by the stunning views of the beach, accessed by a private lift.
The private balcony with table and chairs was tempting but the weather was not informed of our visit!
This really was a fantastic experience facilitated by Jaimie-Lee, the ever smiling and so helpful receptionist who made this possible. Nothing was too much trouble for her and her colleague, Troy.
Each afternoon, we answered a soft knock at the door to be greeted with two glasses of bubbles and an invitation to enjoy freshly baked cakes and unlimited nibbles. Perfection!
Such an experience deserves to be repeated and we have booked to return at the end of March for a further 5 night stay.
To finish, the service from all of the staff sets the standard of the 5* rating which is richly deserved.
We cannot wait to return.

We stayed in the Carbis Bay pods and had nicest time, the estate was beautiful and the staff were so helpful, thank you to Josh & the team ❤️

Initial accommodation we were offered was poor and far from the actual hotel.
Eventually offered better accommodation when we complained.
Some staff friendly, others a bit rude and on their phones quite a bit.
They forgot our breakfast, despite asking for our order. Only brought to us when I complained.
Spa has limited time for children.
This was a last minute booking as I was in the area and needed a place to say. Little did I know I discovered a hidden gem.! Absolutely stunning spa overlooking the sea, amazing food in top quality restaurant, and the room was beautiful especially the views. Cannot wait to come back.
Not a very festive atmosphere in this expensive hotel. The heating needs an upgrade The restaurant in the hotel is a conservatory and was cold.
Christmas lunch was definitely 2 star and for some reason none of their meals are served hot always warmish They need a new cook.
Their moto is charge the customer for everything and then add a 10% service charge.
No lift and some rooms are up plenty of stairs.
Hotel lounge is a bit pocky and there is no bar just staff service
Give the Carbis Bay a miss it has seen better days and there are more hospitable ones in Cornwall
We weren’t informed at the time of booking or in advance of arrival that the room being booked wasn’t on the main property. This required us to take taxis back and forth from the glamping site to the hotel or into town, as none of it was walking distance.
We Booked at Short Notice due to the Power Shortages Thanks to Storm Goretti and Stayed Saturday 10th January in Sycamore Cottage. The Cottage is Beautiful and in a Fantastic Location with Just a Very Short walk to the Beach and Hotel Facilities. Josh and Sam from the Concierge Team were Absolutely Outstanding and Nothing was Too much, We even had Treats delivered from the Hotel Staff for Our Dog Ted. Thanks Again and We Will Definitely be Coming Back and Recommending the Hotel to Everyone We know.
I celebrated my 40th birthday at Carbis Bay Hotel in January, and it truly was the most special birthday a girl could ask for. From the moment we arrived until our departure, every detail was perfection.
The entire team went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable, but I must give particular shout-outs to Ilma, Emma, Tyler, Paul, Maxine, and Josh. You are all absolute stars! Your warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care made my birthday extra special. You looked after us every single day, anticipating our needs and making us feel like VIPs throughout our stay.
Even Nala the border terrier added to the charm and magic of our experience!
The combination of a stunning location, beautiful facilities, and exceptional service made this a birthday I'll treasure forever. If you're looking for somewhere truly special to celebrate a milestone, look no further than Carbis Bay Hotel.
Thank you to the entire team for creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Wow what a beautiful place and stay. Nothing was too much trouble from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Stunning Lodge and facilities. Amazing food and dine in service. Concierge team were great and easy to chat to via WhatsApp. Fabulous hot tub and balconies with breath taking views. Our break was an out of season treat for a special birthday and will always be remembered fondly. Thank you Carbis Bay team.
We spent a wonderful getaway New Year by the sea. Staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. New Year party was great, food was excellent and the rooms super comfortable and clean. The spa was a lovely way to melt away the stress of Christmas and properly relax. We whiled away many happy hours in Walter’s on the beach helped by some incredible cocktails and good company.
Thanks for a memorable stay!
When we arrived we where shown to our room which was cold, no heating had been put on, the receptionist switched the valve of the rad on. It took some time (24 hours) to come up to temperature. We went down for our evening meal and was given a choice from the same menu that we had in the summer when we visited the hotel nothing warming or festive had been added. It was pointed out we could not have a certain dish as it was not in the package; this had never been explained when we booked the Xmas package. The Orangery is the main dining room which was cold, therefore food that was served did not remain hot or only lukewarm. Other people complained and a few electric heaters were brought in, to little effect. So much for a so called superior Hotel. It has happened before, as the reception told us they are looking at extra glazing insulation. The breakfast can only be described as poor, full English, the bacon had got rivulets of salt the tomato looked smashed the filter coffee was neither hot or a good strength what happened to cafetieres?
Christmas Lunch came plated up, no silver service?? Also we had to wait some 40 minutes between the starter and the main course while the table next to us sailed through there meal at a nice pace. We got a free drink for this when we complained about the wait.
They did not keep Ginger Wine and a Whisky Mac was a mystery, I also had to go into the bar area to get drinks as service was sometimes indifferent.
The lounge is small with an electric fire.
Plenty of smiles to keep the guests happy but little action all for £ 1750 not worth it.
Parking a bit tight.
Should have gone to the Mullion Cove Hotel or the Penventon Park where I now know is much better. So disappointed for a allegedly five star hotel
Stunning, private and modern
The pods were ages away from the main complex. Parking was a nightmare at the main building.
