Con tre giorni di anticipo ho chiesto di poter annullare la prenotazione (che avevo effettuato la sera precedente) anche pagando una penale essendo disposta ad inviare anche i documenti medici che attestavano la necessità di rientrare per problemi medici legati a una situazione post operatoria delicata che era emersa nei tre giorni precedenti il soggiorno ma la manager Leslie ha negato ogni possibilità di dialogo e senza alcun tipo di umanità nè di comprensione. È la prima volta che mi capita di essere in una situazione così delicata e quindi ho dovuto subire la sua scelta e pagare anche se non ho potuto usufruire del soggiorno. Sconsiglio perché in caso di problemi non avrete alcun supporto.

Already looking at booking for next summer
Pros:

The pods were absolutely fantastic
A nice distance away from the main centre of St.Ives , but only 7 minutes drive back in .
Very quiet , superb communal cold plunge pool and a brilliant private hot tub in the garden .

Cons:

Just a bit more clarity required the breakfast situation I think , more consistency.
The first morning was a large box of pastries and a lovely loaf of bread
The second morning was a much smaller box of pastries and another loaf .
Just nice to know what to expect

Wonderful views but poorly run and overpriced hotel.

We loved the location and the sea.

Cons:

We booked an expensive room with sea views.The carpets throughout were badly stained. The fridge in the room was completely empty no ice or soft drinks or alcohol, even though we paid a refundable deposit???Whilst there was a kettle and tea and coffee satchels there was no milk but you could order milk from reception.The bathroom smelled and they only provided a single hand and shower gel which we had to move from the sink to the shower when we took a shower. The service was poor and extremely slow and in one instance sarcastic when my wife explained her allergy to certain food ingredient.

Excellent base, very good hotel, very good staff,
Pros:

Arrived at hotel, with very polite greeting from reception staff , then upgrade to sea view room, shown to room, room was good, used Walter’s restaurant which was good but would have preferred the hotel restaurant

Cons:

It’s old and traditional but very clean and comfortable

Wonderful hotel with excellent customer service, spa facilities, food and the most gorgeous location
Pros:

Everything about the hotel is wonderful! All the staff are incredibly professional yet friendly. The location is stunning overlooking Carbis Bay and the spa facilities are excellent. We were upgraded to a gorgeous sea view room with a balcony at no additional charge. It was such a wonderful surprise on my Birthday. The food was also delicious at the breakfast and in the restaurants. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back again!

There is nothing to dislike about this hotel!

Absolute Heaven
Pros:

The property is in a wonderful location and is totally idyllic. We were treated to a complimentary upgrade at one of the Beach Houses and wow what a surprise, it was amazing my daughter and I were so lucky and happy.

Cons:

Nothing at all - everything was perfect.

Fantastic location and great food
Pros:

The location is fantastic and the food amazing. Restaurant staff were lovely.

Cons:

The blind in the bathroom doesn’t fully go down in room 203 so I felt exposed. There was no fan in the room, which was needed during a very hot few days. The two ladies on reception team weren’t particularly friendly or welcoming when I arrived, but the lady on departure was lovely.

Past Glory Counts for Nothing
Pros:

This was our 4th visit and the hotel has certainly deteriorated. They are trying to live in the past, the G7 was five years ago, and have lost sight of the basics. Lots of chipped paintwork and very inconsistent service. At almost £400 per night (on offer) for b&b you expect the best. Our bedroom initially appeared pleasant and clean with a lovely sea view. However, the paintwork was chipped and the window frame was rotting and the window had to be held open with a piece of wood. There was also a thick layer of dust on the chandelier lights. There was a coffee making facility but no milk, it had to be requested every time you wanted a coffee. For us the milk arrived fairly quickly, other guests were not so lucky. We ate 3 evening meals at the hotel, twice at the beach club and once in the Orangerie. Service in the Orangerie was awful, after about 40 minutes we had to request our main course, which had obviously been sat on the pass. Breakfast service in the same room was also very slow. The Beach Club service was slightly better. The food itself was generally good. Breakfast was restricted to 2 courses, which at £400 a night was a big surprise.
The staff were a mixed bunch, some were very pleasant, others very brusque.
We’ve come away feeling that the management have lost sight of what made it such a great place. It’s such an amazing setting. Forget past glories and concentrate on getting the basics right.
