We loved this Hotel, its age and history. The room, meals, and surroundings.
It was an ideal place to stay, a 30 minute train ride into London. A walk to Hampton Court , which took us an hour and 10 minutes.
Food was good
The hot water took ages to run a bath
Rooms 1, 2, 6 were very good. Location was very good. Food was good. The menu was varied and tasty. The staff and owners were very attentive. A necessary change of rooms was quickly accommodated for our second night.
Rooms 3 and 4 were unbearably hot (due to the weather that weekend), even with fans going full speed. These rooms were cramped compared to the rooms facing the front of the hotel. They also lacked the beautiful vista overlooking the river. Cost of these rooms should have been less than the better rooms. Bathrooms need updating.
Nice location right on towpath walk overlooking river so lovely to sit outside and eat/drink watching boats pass, geese and swans. Stayed in King room with balcony. Was a very hot day/humid night so needed windows open which does encourage mosquitos/flies which in turn attracts spiders of which there were a good few who wanted to share our room. However other than that the room is spacious, bed comfy (tv very dodgy reception so not much hope of watching a good programme). Coffee machine, kettle, tea, coffee, biscuits and water provided. Shower and corner bath in bathroom - again bathroom decent size. Other than a rather sleepless night coz we are pathetic sharing with spiders it was a nice room (decor dated but adequate). Full cooked English included for morning. Nice play to stay 👌
Had requested twin beds but the double was a large bed and staff did come up and make up a fold up single. New fans that work better may make hot nights more comfy as cant have windows open too much as lots of insects come in *on top of ones that arent already lurking lol but thats nothing to do with hotel itself. Very popular for people to come to drink and eat (we didn't eat a main meal there, only breakfast - which was great)!
Location. The beer, when it was on, was good. The steak and ale pie was very nice, as was the sweet.
Draught beer not always available. Plenty of lager, if you like it (I don't).
Calamari not cooked properly, but issue resolved by polite staff and removed from bill.
The room decor was tired looking (paint and cracked tiles in bathroom) but bed was comfortable. More attention needs to be paid when cleaning.

The room was too small, too hot with poor windows that could open. The beds were very well used. The place needs a makeover.
Didn't like the lack of variety for breakfast, not a piece of fruit insight. Too many smoking tables outside so nowhere was smoke free.
The location is fabulous right on the river.
The hotel needs serious investment. The place is so dated, from the furnishings to the structure. We had a room with a balcony which only emphasized how bad a condition the building is. The facias are rotten and the gutters need replacing. Such a shame because it has the potential to be a fantastic hotel.
Lovely little hotel on the Thames, beautiful setting.Staff were amazing and helpful, great bar menu and drinks all reasonably priced. Would definitely stay there again
Nothing to dislike
You double booked me so i was not able to stay with you unfortunately .You sorted another hotel which was lovely but further awY from the venue we were attending .It cost alot of money to get back to the other hotel as we could have wLkef from the wier so we wer out of pocket by £30 .I can’t comment further i am afraid
Location lovely. Right on the river with outside seating. Had cooked lunch and breakfast-which was very good. Staff friendly and helpful.
Woodwork and radiator needed repainting. Towel rail was rusty.
Beautiful little pub with excellent staff will definitely be returning

Great location as we cycled along the Thames to Hampton Court, Kingston and Richmond.
The breakfast was very good too.
The room was comfortable with a balcony overlooking the Thames
The price of wine was extortionate, £9.45 per glass!
A small fridge in the room would have been nice to enjoy a bottle of wine on the balcony (New Zealand Sauv Blanc £7.25 a bottle from a supermarket).
