The staff and management are excellent. The breakfast is outstanding. They have 24 hour rooms serving. The location is very central to most places in Colombo. The hotel is very safe. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious
Took them 7 hours to provide hair dryer & 5 hours for housekeeping to show up! Check out is at 12 & since 10 they started twice to call & show up at the door to remind check out time as if it’s the first time being in hotel !! Very unhappy with the management & how they dealt with their returning customer. Stayed there few times & just once when I needed to change a booking that I only made an hour earlier from full night to half day they didn’t agree! Fear of making 20£ less one time they lost a customer all together.

Staying with family and the place is clean and safe, Also the area is main heart of the city which is walkable to MC and near cafe shops, even malls.
The hotel is definitely overpriced! Cleanliness lacks. basic amenities like faulty air con was a put off! However, mr tushaar was helpful to move us to a better room quickly. There were dead cockroaches here and there. Though the lobby is renovated, poor flooring and dirty worn out rugs in the room corridors disappoint. The ocean view is the saving grace but the busy road in front and frequent trains passing by makes it noisy. Breakfast was decent but nothing wow!
Overall condition of the property not satisfactory. Dusty & rusty condition. Other than that friendly staff & service commendable. Food was nice. Access to transport is good. All other external amenities were in close range

Extremely bad cleanness and highen concerns. Friends wishing to stay here are requested to carry their own vacuum cleaners and brooms.
Overall, I was disappointed with this property.
There were some plus points: The management staff were excellent. The GM Dr. Shobhit and the manager Yusuf. They were both very friendly and willing to accommodate. They made effort to continuously improve which I appreciate.
Another plus is the rooms are large which helps with large families. Also the kitchen staff and waiters were accommodating and they continuously improved breakfast.
However, the property is unfortunately not up to par. The pictures online are not representative of actuality. The rooms, while large, were not clean. The rest of the property is also not clean. Looks old and worn down. Elevators are dirty.
The bathrooms in the rooms were hopeless. None of the showers drained properly. My taps were loose. The bathrooms were never cleaned properly.
Finally, the worst thing about the rooms is they are not at all sound-proof. Felt like the windows were made of paper. The property is in front the railway, and you will hear the trains as if they are passing through your own room. The property needs to invest in sound-proofing!
The staff at the front desk are not helpful. Alifa in particular was rude and not friendly.
Finally the most important part is value. The price we paid was not worth it. I could have paid the same or less and stayed in a better 5 star property such as Cinnamon Grand or The Kingsbury, or Platinum 1 Suites. Next time I would stay at those properties instead.
Overall a good experience. I would stay here again.

Great view of the Ocean if you get the balcony class. Convenient location. with quite a lot of eating places. Getting to the Colombo Fort and any location is also easy using the uber ot tuk tuk. Only pull back is the room fixtures getting old. Generally a good hotel.
The hotel room we had (after we changed rooms as it wasn't the room type we booked) was very old and in much need of repair (as was the first room too in fact). None of the blinds in the room worked so had to stay down (unable to take advantage of the ocean view room), had large holes and were falling down letting light stream into the bedroom. Other issues with cleanliness of the kitchenette and bathroom as well.
The website says a self-service laundry is available but despite travelling with a baby staff insisted a laundry was not available for guests.
Decking around the pool was poorly maintained and actually quite dangerous.
The hotel provided free drinking water which we were grateful for.
Nice view of the beach the best place to stay the food simply super nice calm nice breeze good space it's a big place and If I am coming back to Sri Lanka for me no choice it's Ocean Edge ........
I was definitely NOT pleased! The carpet was smelly, the bathroom was leaky and had a cockroach. My friend woke up with red spots on her back and face. I presume it came from the mattress or the room itself was infested.. There was no hand shower in the wash room. The hotel staff didnt understand the meaning of travel adapter.
There were few good things, but I don't think they matter against these bad experiences. We came to the room only to crash at night, so talking about it to the staff to change sheets and clean the toilets made no sense - as we were pressed for time. Definitely disappointing!
