Best hotel staff, facility and location at St. Augustine beach. 11th summer vacation in a row there for my family (multiple rooms). We are always treated like wanted-special guest, and this hotel really knows what it means to take care of loyalty program members (without us asking). General Manager Scott Hill is the "Best in the Business" in taking care of our traveling experiences. The entire staff is friendly and professional. The hotel recently had some upgrades to rooms and facility that really make it pop. This hotel team knows how to make us feel like this is truly our second home. And finally, the best (top 25 in U.S) hamburger joint and ice cream shops are across the street. Hotel to beach walk in only 5 minutes. Always a little sad to leave, but there's always next year.

In spite of its beautiful location and the building itself, spending three nights here was the most disappointing experience we have had in a hotel in 30 years. Washing machine and laundry broken down. The elevator was not working. They shut down everyone’s water one day to repair a plumbing problem. They have no coffee in the lobby at all unless you want to buy coffee for around $5! No complimentary breakfast! We understood there were few microwaves, but none in the rooms, only a small refrigerator. Room service has been very slow and the staff is told not to offer any help but we have to ask for everything. One day we had a employee come to our room to take out trash. He asked us to bring it to the door! . I would never stay in this one again nor would I recommend it to any of my friends. The rooms are nice but the Staff and Service are very lackadaisical. Apparently nothing is done here unless we “request it.” it was our job do that.
Sadly, very disappointed in Marriot!

Rooms were clean and cleaning staff friendly. Front desk staff were neither friendly nor accommodating. They were clearly bothered when I asked for a different room (room on a higher floor) than what they offered me. Instead of being proactive and offering to accommodate my request, they reluctantly contacted housekeeping (I had to ask them to do so) to see what was available on a higher floor.
When I wrote up my review (email sent out by Marriott), the assistant manager emailed me and proceeded to tell me what I did wrong in securing the room I wanted.

Clean. Not loaded with people just a nice family beach stay.
