A great and family-friendly place to hike, rest, and enjoy good and healthy cuisine.
Pros:

We had a great stay at Vulkanhotel and wished we could have stayed a bit longer to enjoy the food and the beautiful sauna / wellness area. The owners are very friendly and take good care of their guests.

Cons:

Nothing – we really enjoyed the place.

Angenehmer Aufenthalt fuer Wandern und Wellness..
Pros:

Das wellness, die super freundlichen Besitzer, das ausgebreitete Fruehstueck, die Wandertips.

Cons:

Wir könnten beide Nächte nicht gut schlafen, da die Kissen viel zu weich waren. Uns hat es auch gestoert dass es 2 getrrennte betten waren, die staendig auseinander gerutscht sind.

Pros:

The hotel is well kept, nicely decorated in an old-and-modern blend. The staff were all very friendly, facilities were clean, there's enough options for breakfast, and we had a very lovely dinner.
I really like how they really try to minimise waste of material and resources throughout the whole infrastructure. It feels like being environmentally friendly isn't just an empty label here, but something they actually live.

Die Lage des Hotels war sehr gut, das Frühstück war sehr liebevoll angerichtet und liess keine Wünsche offen. Nur schade, dass die Preise über Booking com viel teurer sind und das das Frühstück nicht inkludiert war im Preis.

Wanderung mit Hund bei Gerolstein
Pros:

Auf Wandertour mit Hund eine Nacht in Steffeln verbracht. Schöne und moderne Zimmer mit bequemen Betten, sehr freundliches Personal und sehr gutes Essen im Restaurant. Hund kein Problem, durfte überall mit begleiten.

Very Scotland like
Pros:

Can we just say everything? 😄 The beds were fantastic, the air purification ventilation units done the job too. It was extremely warm here at the time of our visit but the facilities were on hand to help us to deal with the heat. They looked after my mum, who was visiting from Scotland so well that when we got her to the airport, she said I've decided to stay if only just to go back to the hotel in Steffeln 😭
The sauna and hot tub area are absolutely incredible with multiple resting areas whatever the weather may be. Breakfast selection was great with many hot and cold dishes, home made and locally sourced jams and ofcourse coffee and tea for us caffeine heads. 😋
We only ordered at the restaurant one evening but the meal we got was absolutely mind blowingly good. Salmon lattice cooked to perfection, with sweet carrots inside that just really all complemented each other perfectly. They even had a small selection of great Scottish whisky to complete the experience. Next day we had a good wander around the village and up the hills which was fantastic despite the temperature being high 20s / low 30s. Visited a working milk farm just on the edge of town which I'd advise anyone to go do, 2 more lovely people and a whole bunch of animals met. Just before check out I had such an amazing time getting a neck back and shoulder massage from Karin which really sent me to another world. Perfect end to our short stay, I'm sure we will be returning soon as my wife is in love with this place as much as I was.

Cons:

Unfortunately the night we decided to try the restaurant food it was a little late and the dishes ended up taking a long time and that kinda put us off going back as a walk in the next night. I expect next time we will reserve for a time and our meals will be ready.
