Really loud because right on highway. You can’t walk anywhere because on a highway. Terrible location because of the noise and inability to walk anywhere. Really loud because right on highway. We booked based on online pictures and reviews for our 30th anniversary. The hotel is quaint and decorated very nice. There are no 'extras" in staying here...nothing put out in the evenings (like cookies, water) nor in the mornings. There is a central Keurig coffee station and one in the room but no place to get bottled water, drinks, snacks or even an ice station. There's no "front desk" to talk with someone about things to do in the area, etc., all communication with management is done by text. I had reached out several days before we were to arrive to find out about getting the entry code for the building and was told that would be sent to me the morning of our arrival. I didn't receive that information until 2pm of day of arrival, after reaching back out for the information. We had booked one room online and found out by text at 5:09pm that the room we booked had issues and we were being placed in another room. The room we were moved to was very nice but it is on the main street and traffic was very loud all hours of the night. No one was in the hotel the first two nights we stayed there...never saw a soul. Even after seeing another vehicle parked on the third day, we still saw no one inside. I gave the stay an average rating due to the lack of amenities offered for the price charged.
The location was perfect as my husband and I were able to walk to the historic district for lunch. Our suite was comfortable with a living room to relax and the dining room table to bring back food and enjoy with friends.
Everything about our stay was nice, but not a lot to do after 9pm. We went up to the Mimslynn Inn to hang out with other wedding guests, but the Speak Easy closed at 9pm too.
But your accommodations were great.
Our stay in the Jordan suite was exceptional—spacious, beautifully designed, and more akin to a private residence than a hotel room. The internet was fast and reliable, which made working remotely seamless, and also enhanced the in-room entertainment on the large Roku television. Despite its Main Street location, the suite was remarkably quiet and peaceful, offering a true sense of retreat. This was our third visit in five years, and the experience continues to improve. The property is impeccably maintained—fresh, spotless, and immediately calming from the moment you enter. Service is consistently warm and attentive. Jenn, the manager, goes above and beyond to ensure a smooth stay, from securing dinner reservations to accommodating early check-in and assisting with any request. The location is ideal—perfect for walking to local shops, cafés, and standout restaurants such as The Chop House and Porch & Vine.
This is boutique luxury at its finest: a hidden gem that delivers exceptional value and comfort. We would return (and are) without hesitation and highly recommend it.
Excelente ubicación, hermoso diseño y excelente atención profesional del personal.
No tuvimos problemas en el alojamiento
Great location, clean and well equipped room
There is no table to eat on, even though the room is equipped with a kitchen
Free parking, good bad
sticky floor, no elevator
The location was very convenient to downtown Luray, the restaurants, and the relatives we visited. The atmosphere was inviting, and we felt this as soon as we waked into the hotel. It was very quiet and peaceful. The community spaces and our room were tastefully decorated. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Based on the quality of the hotel and the location, it is easy to conclude that our money was well spent.
I have a complaint and would like a full refund , our toilet did not work , in fact there was traces in the toilet and we had to leave our room to use the toilet even at 3 am
I like the vibe of the property how cozy it felt
I think everything was just exceptional
We had a great stay at Hotel Laurance in Luray, Virginia. The historic charm of the property really stands out, while still offering all the comfort you’d want for a relaxing trip. Our room was exceptionally clean, very spacious, and comfortable—plenty of room to unwind after a day of exploring.
The location is a huge plus. Being right in downtown Luray made it easy to walk to nearby shops and restaurants, and the area was peaceful and quiet, which we really appreciated. It also served as a perfect home base for outdoor activities, sitting just about 15 minutes from Shenandoah National Park.

We stayed 2 nights in the Meranda room. The self check-in and check-out was very easy . We were even allowed to check in a few hours early. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom were clean and had all we needed.
It was very easy to communicate with the hotel staff and they even booked the Caverns tickets for us !
Everything went smoothly
We booked the entire hotel for our wedding and were thrilled with our choice. The setting was perfect for our family and for the welcome reception for our out of town guests. The staff was incredibly thoughtful and attentive and even patient with the politics that come with housing a family. On top of that, one of our guests left a suit behind and the hotel stored it until we were back in the area 2 months later
