Pros:

I had such a lovely stay at Sol Barbados and honestly can’t thank the staff enough! They went above and beyond to help me organise a last-minute surprise for my boyfriend – sorting out a cake, balloons, and decorations with no stress at all. It made the whole experience feel so special and personal.

The hotel itself was really clean, tidy, and well looked after. Everything felt comfortable and the atmosphere was just right for a relaxing but fun holiday. You can tell the staff genuinely care about guests having a good time.

Overall, such a great experience – amazing service, beautiful setup, and memories I’ll never forget. Definitely recommend!

Unsafe management of the pools
Pros:

I am writing to raise a serious safety concern regarding the pool operations at Sol Barbados.

Although the pools are officially scheduled to close at 17:00, staff begin closing procedures as early as 16:20. This includes moving fences and equipment with carts around the pool area while guests—especially children—are still walking between pools.

This is not only unprofessional but unsafe. My daughter was nearly hit by a cart being pushed by a lifeguard during this process. There appears to be no adequate control or care when moving this equipment around guests.

More concerning is that lifeguards leave their active supervision positions well before the official closing time. By approximately 16:30, the pool area is effectively left without proper lifeguard coverage. This creates a clear safety risk, as there is no immediate response capability in case of an emergency.

When I raised this issue with the manager, Mr. Borges, I was told that this practice is “correct” because the pool closes at 17:00 and that parents are responsible for their children. This response is unacceptable. The hotel has a duty to maintain proper safety measures and supervision until the official closing time—not to withdraw them early.

Starting closure procedures early, removing supervision, and operating equipment around children reflects poor safety standards and lack of proper protocols.

This is not aligned with what guests should expect from a hotel of this category, nor from a provider working with international tour operators such as Jet2

Amazing. Definitely kids will enjoy there. Many theme parks are in surrounding area.
Pros:

Absolutely amazing swimming pools for kids and adults.
Great breakfast. Rooms were clean just slightly small however I would definitely go back to the hotel. Amazing staff, so helpful and many of the team speak good English.

Cons:

Nothing much, may be the location but that ain’t much of an issue.

Porte de chambre cassé (niveau intimité vraiment pas terrible. Pas d’évacuation de l’aire dans la salle de bain… les joints de salle de bain ne sont pas propres. L’ascenseur c’est vraiment problématique … il n’y a clairement assez pour le nombre de client. Donc on attend longtemps à chaque fois. Les lits avec des roues… à chaque fois qu’on bouge, le lit glisse.
