Was OK for an overnight stay when attending a wedding near by.
Pros:

Amazing building and grounds. Close to where we were attending an event.

Cons:

Bit dated and room was too warm hot - a fan was provided it struggled to keep it chilled so opened the windows only to be woken by the window cleaner the following morning.

Happy stay, would have liked to stay longer
Pros:

Nice grounds and building, nice room, nice breakfast

Cons:

The mattress was too soft/old for me. On site food was too expensive so I ate elsewhere, unsecured wifi.

very good value and a lovely hotel, just limited facilities.
Pros:

Good buffet breakfast on offer

Cons:

The breakfast was served in an alternative location to the restaurant and payment was demanded before you were allowed to sit down.
The food serving times at the various restaurants, bistros and golf club are very limited, therefore we couldn't eat in the evening as everywhere had stopped serving food.

My top two requirements at a hotel are a powerful shower and comfy beds, failed on both counts.
Pros:

Good location for my purposes, lovely setting, have stayed several times before.

Cons:

Disappointing room (34), warm evening, hoped to be able to open window on second floor and get a breeze. Window only opened 2” and faced on to another window about 1-2m across a narrow divide.
Twin beds requested, got a double.
Shower was pathetic and temperamental.

Pros:

The grounds were beautiful

Cons:

Had to change room because of shower. Found Sue on reception to be quite aggressive when dealing with our complaint, no name badge, only smiled when asked her name. However Sue from housekeeping was extremely helpful when asked for help. Restaurant very friendly, welcoming and efficient.

Convenient location but would not be going back
Pros:

The hotel was clean and full of character, but I could understand if it was not to everybody's taste, as suits of armour and similar items were scattered about the hotel.

Cons:

The bedroom and bathroom were tired and in need of a refurbishment, but adequately sized and comfortable. Curtains could do with being replaced, as they kept very little light out due to the time of year and did very little to keep the room dark from around 4am.
Hotels are in the hospitality industry; some of the staff need to be reminded of this, as some of my colleagues were not treated in a very hospitable way during the short stay.

Disappointed
Pros:

The idea of a castle stay
The grounds
The golf clubhouse was much better run

Cons:

The room was not clean.
The staff were a bit rude, like you were putting them out, very rushed, quality was slack did not match the price or external look of the venue.
Cocktails served but not as they should be made, appeared to be half measure for full price, their take on a named cocktail but not even as described.

Beautiful grounds and a comfortable stay.
Pros:

Comfortable and clean and the spa was a lovely addition. Quiet.

Cons:

Rooms were dated. Part of the venue was out of bounds due to a wedding that we were not advised about either at the time of booking or our check in.
