Unpleasant Experience
Pros:

Great location, very central and close to gay quarter

Cons:

Check-in felt awkward, as though we’d woken the staff up when arriving at 5pm.

There was a bottle of Budweiser on the garden window ledge when we arrived, and it was still there when we checked out. In the closed bar area there was also a bottle of Budweiser and some takeaway containers left on a table, again still there the next morning.

When we got to our room there were no towels or toilet roll, which meant making two additional trips back to the front door to press the Ring doorbell so staff would come out from their living area to bring some.

The shower also didn’t drain properly. While showering, the water level rose in the tray until it eventually overflowed. The bathroom itself was very dirty.

The mattress was the worst I’ve ever slept on — extremely lumpy and uncomfortable. The room also had a strange, unpleasant odour that we couldn’t identify.

On checkout, the hotel foyer and stairs smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which wasn’t pleasant.

I understand this is a budget place to stay, but at the very least we expected basic customer service and a clean, comfortable room.
