Roundtop Mountain Vista - Cabins and Motel

I feel kind of bad because i think the people who own the place can’t afford to actually hire cleaning staff and have to clean the rooms between stays themselves. the cleanliness definitely was the biggest thing that bothered me during my stay. the coffee maker in my room (which was actually something that got me excited) had some mold growing in it and the sheets on the bed had hairs that definitely did not come from my head. it was clear they tried, but they either don’t have the time or the funds to clean the rooms to the full extent they should.

It needed cleaned up and the hot water took about 15 minutes to get to the room if you let the water running constantly

Tough getting help, but the lady was getting old running the place.

This place was not as advertised. When we arrived the room had stripped sheets and trash all over the floor. It smelled and there were rat traps at the front door. The lady at the front desk said she “forgot how late it was” and would finish cleaning. I requested a refund she said the owner would do that but she’d text him. We waited, never heard back and left. Kept asking us why we’d want to leave…I never heard back and we eventually found a Best Western in town. I simply couldn’t allow my family to stay here after looking at the conditions of this place.

The lock seemed like anyone could use the code if they understood the code process, and it needed to be double checked that it actually closed after pushing it closed. She also told us the code many times outloud in the parking lot so anyone listening could just walk in later. There was a chain lock as well, but those are very easy to open if you know how. There was a door to our room from the office that did not lock. We had several washcloths and two towels but no hand cloth. We had access to about a third of a roll of toilet paper with no back-up. The microwave was a bit dirty. There was left over food in the fridge. There were holes in the walls. The thermostat looked damaged. We could not control the temp of the room. There was a pillow that looked/sounded like it had plastic bags sewn in to produce volume. There were mats added to the bed for cushioning, but they were piecemeal. The biggest issue is knowing that we could have been walked in on by two different doors.

The building is falling apart.

Small bathroom and shower, no air-conditioning. No ice machine

TV did not work, AC was swamp cooler. No controls for that, it ran all night. By morning it was down to 60 degrees in room. The shower was leaking and went all over the floor. I think it ha dbeen running for several days. The bathroom foor was sticky. The carpets were filty. we would not walk anywhere in the room without slippers on feet.

This probably shouldn’t be listed as an option on booking.com. This seems more like a motel where people are living. I got the sense that someone was living in my room and they marginally cleaned it before I got there. There were used clothes and a bag of oranges in the dresser drawers. Also the two rooms I rented were the only ones with an access key code (but no chain lock from the inside ) I just worried the whole night that the original room occupant would key code their way inside to take my things (didn’t happen but felt possible)

The room was extremely dirty we wasn't given a key so we couldn't lock the room or take our things inside when we returned from the springs we started to settle in when we noticed a nasty smell in the room coming from the shower we opened the nightstand and found it was full of dirty wemons panties and when we saw the giant yellow stain on the bed we just left this place is nasty and I wouldn't recommend anyone stay there spend a few more bucks and get a decent room this place gave off a dirty mike and the boys vibe of ya know what I mean

Dirty, holes in walls, check in process impossible, noisy. generally AWFUL.
