The location was only approx 3 mins from the gretna hall hotel where friends were gettimg married.
The staff were bery friendy & helpful.
The room was clean & tidy too.
It was nice location and friendly owners just what we were after / nice coffee machine in room

We booked the room as we were attending a wedding and needed somewhere to stay. The room was lovely and met our needs as all 4 adults could stay in the same room. It was value for money and the staff are very helpful
The hotel fell well below expected standards in all the key areas. it was overpriced , unclean, unhelpful and indifferent reception staff. It fell well below the three star rating and would be more suited to a roll within the state welfare system.
To say this hotel was well past its best would be an understatement, its actually quite hard to find places this bad to stay in the UK, who actually cannot be bothered to repair window catches?
I must say I did not chose to eat the the limited breakfast , or eat in the restraunt.
Used as stopover on way to Scotland. Got held up in traffic, but owner phoned and made special arrangements. Great room. Great beds. Fab night sleep

Many won't realise just how expensive accommodation in Gretna can be. This is due to the large wedding market they support, we weren't in Gretna for a wedding but prices don't care.
Hunters Lodge was proving to be the best value for an actual hotel, but we discovered it's run with the guest house personal touch. Great car parking and superb location, the outlet "village" is a mere 5 minute walk, and I'd recommend walking as the car park here is a bit like dodgems ride, the hotel has been mentioned as a bit dated, but I think this added to the charm, we had a four poster bed and the room was spotless, great shower. Housekeeping did offer to do the room, but we were only a two night stay. They offer evening meal, but we only had breakfast which was excellent, due to value, hospitality and central location we will definitely be back..
It was an friendly welcoming
Good area to be staying in only 5 minutes away where we needed to go for a wedding. Shopping centre was just down the road which was perfect. Clean outside and inside too. The staff was lovely. Food was lovely
It was just mainly in our room one of the cold tap wasn’t working so had to use the one in the bathroom to fill up my baby prep machine for his bottle. The kettle was very dusty outside. The shower wasn’t the best wasn’t powerful enough but it did it job.
The Hunters lodge is not luxurious. Although it is comfortable. Clean and friendly.

Bed was very comfortable bathroom was decent and the room itself spacious and as I said clean and tidy. Plenty of coffee and tea provided. Extras included are Iron, hairdryer.
Storage for clothes etc was good.
The breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty.

Difficult to say. I dont really have any negatives. It depends upon your expectation I suppose.
As I said not luxurious but I was happy.
Hunters Lodge Hotel was our last stop on the way home from a fantastic 12 days in Scotland, location was perfect, room was nice and quiet (even for a main road), bed was super-comfortable and the gluten free breakfast option went down a treat.
What could have been better? absolutely nothing, this hotel easily met my expectations.
