We booked a 2 night stay, with our daughter in order to be at a close friend's funeral service and wake. The hotel is ideally located to appreciate the view across the water, and to watch the comings and goings in the bay. The staff were really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The public areas and therooms are lovely and clean. Parts of the hotel are ready for being refurbishment (which is about to take place) but it would be a shame if the whole project loses all of the period atmosphere of the present building. The bar was comfortable and the barman (owner/manager??) was very personable and amusing. In fact, all of the staff made us feel really welcome and were encouraging us to return after the refurbishment has been completed.
Lovely and well priced hotel in an expensive part of the world
Barman was very good, but shut to early, lovely views from bedroom balcony.
Incredible room, incredible view. Lovely breakfast.
Service was friendly enough but what ever you do don't ask for an early breakfast. I was booked on a fishing trip at 8am so I asked both the night before and the next morning if I could maybe get a sausage bap or something to take away. The answer I kept getting back was, No, breakfast isn't served until 8am. I waited until 8am and the breakfast still wasn't out. The lack of even any effort to at least get me something was remarkable even though I'd paid £8 for breakfast. They really let themselves down on that front.
staff are brill. Sadly due to the hotel closing shortly the management seem to think it s ok not to give the customer what he expects. ie
menu not as on line.
restaurant not open sunday night
no music or entertainment
The hotel itself wasnt bad .. but the shower in my room 201. Is totally useless.. its like a dribble
Location was perfect, right in the center of the small town and close to the bus stop. Staff was professional and kind. Our room was in a bad spot overlooking the trash cans and very close to a pub but overall the location was wonderful
Reasonably priced but it was only a small single room but clean and comfortable
My room was well furnished and recently decorated. The rest of the hotel was distinctly shabby. There was no telephone in the bedroom and no information about hotel sevices like wifi. On one day my room was not serviced despite me being out for twelve hours and hanging the right sign on the door. Breakfasts were expensive and of very poor quality. There was no parking at the hotel.
Didnt like the walk from the town car park to the hotel, with heavy bags this was a struggle, staff friendly and helpful, toilet struggled to flush, fantastic views from the room, nice breakfast, lovely eateries new by
Great stay, close to pub and shops. Balcony room with harbour views. Hotel is a bit tied in places but didn't ruin our stay. Victory inn next door is a good place to get a drink and food is good
We had 2 extra days in St Mawes after time spent with our family in self catering accommodation. We paid for a superior room with sea view and were expecting a room with balcony. We were disappointed to be told they were all taken. The room did have a sea view and was alright. Nothing superior about it. The hotel was not serving dinner while we were there and we chose not to have breakfast.
It was right by the harbour.
Lovely little place in a great location.
Very friendly and clean hotel ,really enjoyed the stay.staff friendly food good .
I booked this place with balcony and when we arrived was told first in best dressed! appaling really considering this was what the booking stated , women at desk was not helpfull when I questioned this we forfeited the room and was not even offered a refund for the false advertising and booking discription
Staff were extremely helpful the view was great really enjoyed our stay
The staff were welcoming and allowed us to check-in early. Unfortunately, the bar and restaurant were closed and only breakfast available, which was very disappointing.
The rooms were decorated and cleaned to a good standard, although we both found the mattress too firm.
Location is the best spot view of the sea front. Hotel staffs are professionally friendly, has a very good & healthy environment, well kept, clean & tidy room & dog friendly. Our puppy ‘ a long coat Chihuahua, has great fun during our stay.
