They took £250 off me for a room. Then cancelled the room and now 5 weeks later I still haven’t been refunded the money!
Being charged for a room I didn’t get!
The view from the front of the property was fantastic and the breakfast was acceptable.
The room was tired and needed much maintenance. The carpet, bedding and furniture were marked and stained, there was no hot water for showers in the morning, the view was dreadful and we expected more for the money we paid. We booked this property based on the tv coverage and the standard was nothing like it obviously had been when run by the previous owner.
A very lovely wedding venue, all very well organised. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
When we arrive to "book in" they told us we didn't have a room as it was a wedding, and the bride and groom would have booked out the whole venue. I'm guessing booking.com would know this is a wedding venue but still took my money. The staff had a chat with the bride (my niece) and groom to ask if it was ok to give us a room.
We were given a suite that was very nice and very comfortable. It was just a little embarrassing in the beginning.
Breakfast was lovely but we arrived after a busy day to find that the hotel offers no evening meal had to go to local village

The hotel felt like it was out of service, not a lot of staff and very poor breakfast
Area and surroundings
My bedding was dirty with what looked like someone had wiped their nose in it.
Only 2 cups in a 4 person bedroom booking which meant not enough milks or sugars
Blonde and bobbed hair receptionist/wedding organiser was awful, rude, argumentative when I told her about the bedding being dirty. She was very very rude.
Big carpark
Everything. I think I was the only person staying in the hotel which was odd but it was not an enjoyable experience. Not one other person and only one member of staff working.
Check in was OK but I had to ask about breakfast, which started late at 8:30am and no option for anything earlier or to takeaway as I was told. No restaurant or food available in the evening and the only member of staff there didn't know anywhere to go and eat or try.
Room was SUPER hot due to a towel rail go fully! Made me sweat when I brushed by teeth or even lay in the bed!
Room had only a view of some pipes and no curtains, just an office style blind.

Poor tea and coffee facilities.
Shower was poor, cold and only worked when you got out and pulled the power cord on and off like you were at your grans house or something.
Not sure the room had been vacuumed and the cabinet was pretty dirty.
When I checked out the receptionist came to get the key in his pyjamas with no shoes on which I found strange.
The location was superb. The suite lacked basics such as a wardrobe but included a sink unit? The carpet had not been vacuumed. Hair and dirt could be found. The breakfast itself was lovely but had to ask for sugar, butter and tomato ketchup. Also I did not expect to have self service for tea, coffee and toast for the price. Also we had to pay the £200.00 fee even though we said that we had already paid for the visit.

Room was lovely and clean and great location.
Great views and location.parking was also very good.
Breakfast not great , hot food just warm tasted like been on hot plate for a while.All three of us did not enjoy. No fruit,yogurt or orange juice , just very limited and cheap. Had room for 3 but only 2 cups provided, toiletries consisted of one mini shampoo a half used bottle of bath /shower gel and lotion very poor.
Tv just basic channels,no dvd or cd player as stated.Hotel was 5 star for looks only. Was disappointed in everything else no luxury items in room and everything provided very budget.
If you want space, nice decor and lovely views then couldn’t fault this hotel , just don’t expect more than that as will disappoint .
We were upgraded on arrival to a suite which was absolutely superb.
The bed in the room could have been bigger just a standard double in such a lovely room seemed very strange. The sausages at breakfast were not nice at all.
There's no dinner but the breakfast was exceptional as was the other facilities in the property.
