Helpful staff
The beds were fabulous, the pool was so fun for the kids, and my husbands parents, and our family with kids could all stay in the same room.
There was a crack in the ceiling, but the rooms overall are well maintained. It was a classic American lodge.
The breakfast was ok, excellent location.
The breakfast seemed to be assembled not cooked.
Location was convenient to major sites, restaurant on premises was excellent.
Nothing
Very nice very well updated loved the vibe of the property.
We stayed two nights in one of the motel rooms and five nights in one of the cabins. Both were cleaned excellently and were very cozy. The cabin had a kitchenette and came stocked with pots and pans, dishware, silverware, and cooking utensils. We ate breakfast and dinner at the Powder House restaurant. We had a great experience dining in for breakfast and placing pickup orders for dinner to eat back in our motel room. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone wanting scenic lodging in the Black Hills!
The room was much smaller than it appeared online or was indicated in the description. Not comfortable for 2 people. There was no mention that the room we reserved was up a flight of uneven stone steps. They were lovely to look at, but with arthritis and carrying luggage it was a not safe. The person in the unit next to ours said he slipped and fell on them. Thankfully he wasn't injured. The area is lovely and it was unique to be in the log cabin feel, but it didn't turn out as I had hoped. The food at the restaurant was good.
This is an excellent place to stay. Will stay there again if ever in this area. Will recommend it to anyone traveling in this area.
Great location. Loved the cabin we were in and very comfortable. The restaurant is top of the line, the best meal of our trip.
Very clean welcoming environment. All of the staff was very friendly as well.
Visited in first week of October and the cabins were amazing, we loved them! The distance to Mt rushmore was also really close. The heater unit in the cabin worked well enough to quickly heat it up. The shower was also nice.
We ate the breakfast at the restaurant and it was decent. The cinnamon apple pancakes were okay.
Overall the visit was nice.
