Location is the ONLY thing going for this place - avoid, especially via Booking.com
Pros:

Wouldn’t waste your time or money booking this lodge.
We had made a reservation for this hotel months in advance of our travel to Washington state. We arrived at 9:25pm on a Friday night to check in after a long day driving - bearing in mind Packwood is a pretty remote but popular location for Mt Rainier National Park access - this is the only thing this lodge has going for it.
We arrived to be told there was no room for us & that the lodge was fully booked for the weekend - no reservation for us despite the fact the room had been charged to my card in full before our arrival & the reception staff could find my name/booking on the computer via their booking.com end - which was how we made the booking (along with all other hotels during our 2 week trip with ZERO other issues).

As seems to be mentioned in many other reviews, the staff at this lodge in our experience were absolutely dreadful - the guy at reception made a phone call to whom we assume was some sort of manager, which resulted in nothing at all & that was basically it - no room, all the best.
On a Friday night at 9:30pm in a remote village where we had no working phones to make calls due to being from N.Ireland - I had to ask for a Wi-Fi code to attempt to message booking.com before we left & to try to search for another hotel. We got no help or apology from the lodge, and when I asked for some form of proof to show we had arrived to the hotel and that this was their fault not ours so I could seek a refund, I got a print out of my booking literally thrown at me with a handwritten “they showed up” - that anyone including a child could have written themselves.
We got told of a motel about a mile up the road ‘that direction’ which subsequently was no use as it was closed for the evening when we arrived at almost 10pm which you’d think a local would have known.

Cons:

All he cared about was getting us out the front door so he could close up because no sooner had we stepped out and into our car, the door was locked & reception staff away in his car. I appreciate people have a clock off time but the lack of care for two paying customers was shocking. It was too easy for them to palm us off blaming booking.com who we’ve never had an issue with in 10+ years of using their service.
We were more than calm & reasonable in our response considering the circumstances we were left in & at entirely the lodges fault but the sheer lack of human compassion or professional response to their administrative error was & still is to me beyond belief.

In the two weeks we spent in the US this was the absolute worst experience of staff we experienced & to be honest quite possibly ever in all our travels.
Avoid booking this hotel if you can help it & if you have made a booking do yourself a favour and contact them directly before you make the journey as you could find yourself hearing “No Room” & tossed out on the kerb in the dark of night without a care.

Pricey but a great stay next to Mount Rainier National Park
Pros:

Clean, comfortable, convenient to the supermarket and restaurants, and a short drive from the Stevens Canyon entrance to Mount Rainier. The snack room was great, with lots of treats that made my toddler very happy! Staff was friendly and helpful.

Cons:

It was pricey for what it is. We chose it for its laundry room, but it was busy with through-hikers doing their laundry, who made the room a little gross.

Disappointed.

it looked like a lodge from the outside but the only part that was a lodge was the lobby, then it was just a dated motor lodge. It was overpriced for what it was.

Pros:

Location is great. New staff is super friendly. Rooms.are nice and comfortable

Cons:

Parking wasn't great this time. Seemed like a lot of non hotel guests were parked in the lot spaces and some were taking up several spaces making it difficult for actual guests to park . Also, some guests were smoking on the balcony right outside the room doors.
