Villa San Ignacio

I felt so welcome the moment I walked onto the property. It’s a very secure place and I felt very safe, especially as a female, solo traveler. The check in was very easy and the kind security guard helped me to my room. Jennifer (I believe her name is) is extremely sweet and made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. Everyone was so nice! The restaurant staff is so attentive and very efficient with the food orders. I was so happy to enjoy the free breakfast, the pool, and the wonderful room. Everything was very clean and organized. I wish to return soon! This will be my first choice for hotels in San Jose :) Muchas gracias!!

Villa San Ignacio is my new home away from home. They make you feel welcome & safe! The rooms are quaint & clean with the absolute best service I’ve ever had. The chef at the Pandora restaurant has gifted hands & everything I ate was delicious! Looking forward to visiting again!!

Only there one night but it was such a treat in such a busy crazy area, felt very safe and calm within it. Staff is amazing, wish we had more time to explore the beautiful property.

Fairly basic rooms but clean and comfy beds and shower was good
Lovely gardens, we enjoyed watching the army ants carry leaves along the path
Pool was nice to sit by in the afternoon and for a refreshing dip
Breakfast was delicious, good coffee
Enjoyed cocktail hour with crisps and dips

Villa San Ignacio is a beautiful hotel creatively nestled in nature, but close to the hustle and bustle. The staff was very friendly and helpful with my late arrival. My room was clean with great little touches for a comfortable and productive stay. A small desk for working, floorspace for yoga by the bed, beautiful natural light, and a very comfortable bed. I enjoyed my breakfast, then a walk through the jungle trails on the property, and a quick dip in the pool. Highly recommend this unique stay!

What an amazing place. The room was beautiful, food was out of this world and staff was courteous and professional. The gardens and plants are mind blowing. You can spend the day walking and discovering! This is a must stay place.

Because of the proximity to SJO airport, I booked this hotel as an "in-between" after a long travel day ... But what a surprise, this place is a little piece of heaven right outside the city! The hotel property is like it's own little secret National Park! Rooms have air conditioning via a mini-split and private patios looking over the grounds! Plenty of parking if you're renting a car. Very well kept with even some hiking trails! The restaurant is a lovely indoor/outdoor setting and we had some pretty incredible meals! The only thing I regret is not booking this place for longer! We will be back!

Excellent place to stay for a night on arrival as its only around 20 minutes from the airport. A lovely place to start our trip with a very authentic feel. We didn’t get to experience much as we were so tired after our flight but the breakfast was amazing. Price was excellent

The “Honeymoon Suite” with 1 king bed had a ton of space and a large outdoor terrace (it was on the second floor). The restaurant was good for both dinner and the included breakfast. It is on a busy road but feels secluded with the gate and large property.

Absolutely gorgeous property! Comfy rooms, beautiful views, great staff and really good food. We felt welcome and safe at the gated property. Kids also very thoroughly enjoyed the pool. Would definitely make this a #1 stay next time we come back.

Staff were very accommodating when we arrived at midnight after a delayed flight. Waking up to the beautiful garden grounds in the morning was a delight and the breakfast was delicious.
