Great little hotel lost in the middle of the woods, with a nice onsen. Comfortable room, and nice traditional restaurant. 100% worth the drive
If you book dinner with the room, last seating takes place at 6:30, which is a bit early
Beautiful and peaceful location. Comfortable room and good service.
Nothing
Rien
Amazing relaxing onsen, nearby forest bathing, amazing views, good breakfast
Location wildlife onsen good
Nothing
Location room and onsen
The cost was too high really and having to order dinner before we got there.
Amazind dinner a la carte, but the strong point is the breakfast, is buffet with a lot of choices. The room was clean and the private onsen a very gem! Thanks for the staff, they were all extremely friendly even if they didn't speak english
The room was very clean but bare in mind there is no shower in the room, just toilet and sink.
Great
Staying at Moritsubetsu was one of our highlights during our five week holiday in Japan. This quaint, traditional little inn was within walking distance to the beautiful forest bathing areas nearby and within driving distance to Akan Mashu. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the common areas were warm and welcoming. The rooms were clean, and the beds comfortable. The meals were outstanding. We felt so spoiled staying in this little gem in the forest. We stayed two nights, and wished we could have stayed longer.
Everything was wonderful!
It was a complete forest retreat that was beautiful in autumn. They have a few trails you can walk from the entrance and they’re all easy. You can even see deers and raccoons from the main hall in the evening
The staff were also very quick and helpful with translations.
Wished there was a shower nearer to our room, but that might be unavoidable given the traditional layout of onsen hotels.
The location is beautiful, tucked away with nature all around it. The restaurant staff were amazing and cooked me a special vegetarian meal every night.
I loved it but you need a car and to be prepared to drive to see sights.
We had a wonderful 3-nights stay at Lamp No Yado Moritsubetsu. We were two couples and took two Japanese-style rooms, both of which were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel very welcome from the start. The setting is beautiful—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by lush greenery.
The hotel also has a beautifully designed and well-kept onsen, perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. We enjoyed the large community room with relaxing massage chairs and games. Breakfast was delicious, with many different dishes.
The location couldn’t be better for hiking and sightseeing in the nearby parks. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy nature, warm hospitality, and a truly relaxing experience.
