Friendly staff, clean, comfortable bed

Clean, comfortable, convenient location for us. Was easy to find.
The staff was amazing. Clean rooms. Breakfast was good.
Smoke alarms went off in hallway only and not in our rooms. Was told only way the room alarms went off is if the smoke was in our rooms being on the third floor if the smoke had reached our room it could be too late to get to safety. Our room phone also didnt work to call the front desk.
I originally requested a second floor room but ours ended up being on the first floor which was significant for us because we were only two doors away from the swimming pool and other amenities. There also was a fire alarm that went off throughout the hotel on Sunday morning around 12:30 am and being that we were also two doors away from the exit was substantial too being that we had little ones with us.
We had to hold the toilet handle down each time to get it to flush in our room so that was an annoyance. Our room wasn’t real clean, the carpet still had crumbs left over from the previous guests. There were several hairballs in the pool but the front desk did send maintenance to clean it out right away, so that was a plus.

Cleanliness was a factor when booking and our experience was good consistent with other reviews. Housekeeping staff clearly take pride in their work. Every single staff member was above and beyond friendly and attentive. The facilities were nice with several little amenities you wouldn’t necessarily expect. Just as examples my girl appreciated the ceiling fan in the bedroom and they had a complimentary disposable razor behind the desk which was nice since I forgot mine. The breakfast tacos were not oversold in other reviews. So good. All at a fair price for the value.
The pool was warm and comfortable unlike a lot of hotels we stay in. Most pools are barely warm enough to swim in with kids.
Pool was short on towels
Everything was clean and safe. The staff (specifically Alison and the morning manager (i can’t remember her name i was so tired!) were so kind and helpful. Super friendly and made me change my one night stay into a two night stay. The girl one the second day at the lobby desk was so sweet to my dog and to me as well. Probably the best hotel stay I’ve ever had.
exceptionally clean. great breakfast, very nice staff
our room was big and very comfortable. lots of towels. tasty breakfast with lots of choices, especially the chicken tinga for breakfast tacos. good water pressure in shower. gym looked great but no time to use it.
the lighting--who likes this dim yellow lighting? no door separating the bathroom sink and the sleeping area. a little bit out of the way from davenport charm (but great if chain restaurants are your thing)
It was very noisy and alot of slamming doors.
We normally don't have issues like that while staying.
