From the outside, it’s unassuming, but step inside, and you’re greeted by a magical, rustic charm – think cozy wooden accents and tasteful decor that feels like a warm hug. The hotel is spotless, well-organized, and thoughtfully laid out, making every corner inviting.

The location is perfect: a 10-minute stroll to the downtown core and 20 minutes to the beach, ideal for exploring. The bed and pillows? Pure bliss – we slept like royalty. The breakfast, handmade by the host Maria Angelica, was a highlight, with fresh, custom dishes served at our preferred time. But Maria Angelica herself stole the show. Her warmth, patience, and kindness made us feel like family, not guests, from check-in to checkout. This is the only place I’ll stay in La Serena, and I’m already excited for my next visit!

Mi estadía en el Hotel boutique Primera Hacienda fue estupenda! Junto a mi papá y mi sobrino disfrutamos de una muy grata estadía. El lugar era hermoso, acogedor, cerca de todo y con mucho estilo artístico. Doña María Angélica es una persona muy amable y cálida. Ella nos hizo sentir como en casa.
Nos vamos muy contentos, satisfechos y agradecidos. De todas maneras será nuestra opción para nuestro próximo viaje a La Serena.

Maria hat mich sehr herzlich aufgenommen, Zimmer und Hotel haben einen bezaubernden Stil und eine wundervolle Atmosphäre. Das Frühstück war gut und sehr liebevoll zubereitet. Ich bin begeistert und kann das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen, wer den persönlichen Touch sucht ist hier perfekt aufgehoben.

The host went out of his way to give us directions and advice at our destinations. He even gave us his phone number in case we had trouble.

Mycket bra hotell. Maria som äger hotellet är väldigt snäll och hon ser till att din vistelse blir bra. Hon hjälper dig att boka utflykter och ger dig tips på sevärdheter, resturanger och barer som är värda att besöka.

Har egentligen inget minus men om man vill bo jättenära stranden så ligger hotellet cirka 2 km därifrån.

Primera Hacienda Hotel Boutique exceeded our expectations. The property, built in 1870, is very beautiful. The common spaces are nicely arranged and decorated. The rooms that we viewed were all clean and tastefully decorated and our room was very comfortable. The dining area is quite cozy and inviting. The included breakfasts were very good and filling. We also took the option of eating in for our evening meals and were treated to wonderful Chilean cuisine. Most of all, our hostess and hotel manager, Maria, treated us like family from the moment we arrived. She looked after every need to ensure that we were comfortable and enjoying our time in La Serena. The hotel is also conveniently located within easy walking distance to the city centre. We highly recommend Primera Hacienda Hotel Boutique.

Amazing! highly recommend this place. Maria was really helpful, quick to respond and friendly. Beautifully decorated, breakfast was amazing, home made jams and cakes. The building and rooms have a lot of character. Beautiful property with a nice courtyard and a nice pool.

Beautiful and well maintained hotel in historical building with a lovely patio and garden with pool. - After months of staying in hostels, it was like a calm oasis, just a few minutes of walking distance to Plaza de Armas.
Also nice breakfast with homemade cake and fruit is served. There is also a friendly and well behaved dog named Poker. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable about the region and speakers fluently English.
We planned one night there and in the end stayed for three nights.
