Location - close to town and railway station.
Incredibly basic room - no decorative features in room, just plain walls and worn carpet plus a mouldy/bleach smell. No side lights at all just a main light and only one pillow each. The kettle couldn’t be used unless you plugged it in under the desk which is frankly unsafe … no plugs anywhere else within reach of it. Breakfast was okay and staff were also fine … but it’s not cheap and what’s galling is my parents were staying in the hotel next door for the same price in complete luxury. The general areas were just completely bare and unwelcoming, it felt a bit like a ghost hotel.

I did not have breakfast..as i was meeting a friend to have early breakfast near the Harbour i love St Ives.. and i know it very well .and having stayed at the St Ives Hotel before i enjoyed..it very much. I was very happy staying at the Hotel..
Good location
Very creaky floors; maintenance needed on room.
One member of staff had a bad attitude and was very unaproachable,also not helpful,the place isnt clean and is run down,,the breakfast wasnt nice so we ate out,would not recomend the hotel.
The setting is fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine and the staff worked really hard to cope with a large number of customers. I didn't see on the website that they had any parking available but they do, which was great. My single room was very small but the bed was comfy and the room had a great view and a little balcony which was a nice surprise.
The main problem we found was that the bedrooms and corridors upstairs were very stuffy and hot. The lobby/restaurant etc were fine but the corridors and bedrooms were very warm and there was no way to turn the radiators down. I was advised to open the door onto my little balcony (which had lovely sea views) but that made the room very noisy. My friend's room was very hot but she couldn't open any windows.
The hotel is a bit run down in places but it isn't expensive so I expect they are trying to update as they can afford it.
The staff were lovely, especially the lady behind the bar. The downstairs area was lovely and clean. The view from the room was absolutely beautiful.
My room wasn't like the picture, it was very dated and there was water damage down the wall. I picked the room because of the photos on the website, choosing a twin over a double.
Everything is incredibly clean 👌 very friendly staff. I was really surprised by the negative reviews. Yes, it's a little tired, but it's not horrendous. It's cosy and worth the money. Easy location and absolutely perfect for what we needed. We would definitely stay again. To be honest, I've stayed in more expensive hotels that were in a worse condition. The hotel is lovely and has amazing potential. Book whilst it's a bargain. I'm sure when brought up to a higher spec, it would reflect in cost

Zimmer entsprach in keiner Weise, dem auf der Buchungplattform, Booking angebotenen Zimmer mit drei großen Eckflügelfenstern, Raumgröße von circa 20 m² wurde auch nicht annähernd erreicht. Das Zimmer war insgesamt sehr heruntergekommen und verwohnt. Der Teppichboden im Zimmer war stark verschmutzt und wies große Fleckenbereiche auf. Das verfügbar gemachte Zimmer war in akzeptabel. Der Mitarbeiter im Empfang war nicht im Stande, uns ein anderes Zimmer entsprechend der gemieteten Lage und Ausstattung zu übergeben.
Unsauber, nach unserem empfinden, nicht gut geführt, das Zimmer entsprach in keiner Weise dem Angebot… ich könnte diese Aufzählung noch erheblich weiterführen. um 5:30 Uhr am Morgen wurden wir vom Servicepersonal geweckt und mussten unser Fahrzeug von dem bei der Anreise zugewiesenen Parkplatz entfernen. Ein Hinweis oder Angaben auf Ersatzparkfläche… Fehlanzeige. Das alles führte zu unserem Entschluss, dieses Hotel sofort zu verlassen.
