Hotel was cheap and staff were very friendly. Onsite parking was a bonus. Soaps, shower gel, kettle and biscuits in room. Great view from sea view rooms.
Hotel is tired but clean. Pillows were quite lumpy. We could hear people talking outside the windows not sure how good the double glazing is so maybe take earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Amazing location. And bonus of easy parking too. Beautiful sea view.
The hotel is dated, but given the price and the location I didn't have a problem with this. Clean, but the bathroom did need a little work and shower was a bit pathetic. Charging £20/night for a dog was extremely expensive given the price I paid for people! Especially when I was provided with absolutely nothing. Most places that charge a lot less tend to provide a dog bowl/blanket/treats.
Friendly and very clean
This hotel is at a great location and excellent value for money! Make no mistake, it's a bit of a time travel so set your expectations accordingly. Creaky floors, lots of fire doors to get through and shuts behind with a bit bang, different staircase to first floor than 2nd and 3rd, but we had a great stay! The heating was mentioned in other comments, but it was fully on and although it wasn't a sauna in the room, it was warm enough. I didn't try breakfast and I think there are better breakfast options around, but that's subjective.
We were in a spacious family room but note that other rooms can be quite small.
Old building, old corridors, old style rooms, but provided everything for a short stay.
You definitely hear all steps from above you so if you are a light sleeper think it twice. But still I would recommend this hotel. Try it for a short stay first just to see if it is for you!
Superb location and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
The heating was a bit warm for me but I was able to open a window.

My room and view were pretry sub standard. Requies a complete refurbishment.
Fabulous location
Far too hot! I asked if the heating could be turned down but was told it was on a timer till 9pm. Had to have a fan on and the windows open. Property is very tired and needs some TLC. Carpets are visibly worn down to the thread in many places and needs decorating throughout.

Breakfast was nice but for £12 if you book the night before, or £15 if you just turn up in the morning you don’t get much for your buck. Literally a full English I had 1 egg, 1 Sausage, 1 hash brown and 2 rashers of bacon with a pot of beans and half, yes half a mushroom.
Good location,was only one friendly staff member and he was an Australian guy who worked behind the bar.
Staff wasn’t friendly very rude,not welcoming.
Shen we arrived was no ,how are you, enjoy your stay no nothing.
The room we first went to had damp and mould in it, bed wasn’t made, was dirty not clean, so we asked to get moved which they moved us, the room was better but still not great, bathroom had holes and marks all over the wall, pillow cases and that was inside out sheets hanging off the bed and not made properly.
We asked our room to be cleaned and beds changed ,instead of changing the sheets they just flipped everything round!!
I would not recommend coming back to this hotel very disappointed.
Also we brought our dog with her and online on booking.com it says £10 a night but it’s actually £20 a night so that’s really not good!
Manger or someone always spoke to our dog but ignored us and didn’t speak to us or ask how we are or anything.

The hotel is a little down at heel however the location and view makes it great value for money.
Corridors in dire need of a re-furb.
The location is very good, right next to the beach and train station and a short scenic route into the centre of St Ives. There are fairly steep steps both exits of the hotel and rooms are over a few floors so be aware if anyone travelling is less mobile.
We had lovely sea views, bed was very comfortable and plenty of tea/coffee provided which was appreciated.
Lots of good breakfast options including veggie & vegan options.
Great that it was dog friendly! Although our room was up 2 flights of stairs and no lift so again good to be aware of if you have an older dog or a puppy that needs to go out in the night.
We tried to shower at about 8:30am and there was not hot water - I assume there were too many people trying to shower at once. Thankfully the bath tap was warm although slow, so we did manage to run a bath and wash but it was a bit of a drag to not be able to use the shower.
The location was really nice. The views were out of this world.
