Older property , nice views close to town
The location was great and the bed was comfy.
The property was quite dated. The windows were locked shut or only allowed open a tiny bit (during the heat wave and there was no air-con. The windows were also dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in a while.
Breakfast stopped serving at 9am which we found to be quite early.

Bathroom/shower was filthy dirty full of black mould.
Bed was very uncomfortable probably due to feeling mattress springs.
No security at night in such a big hotel! Even after a complaint we were not checked to see if we were ok!

Room 403! Absolutely terrible!!! In need of refurb. Poor presentation. Poor value for money-requested recompense but denied. Booking.com get a grip! Waste of money!!

Meal times could be longer
Day staff were lovely. Lift was a bonus although slow and only took 4 people at a time. Downstairs reception looked as expected very clean and tidy. Reduced priced parking in multi storey was a BIG bonus. Slept well comfortable bed. Close to everything.
The room was very, very tired. The shower curtain was very cheap plastic and not long enough. Water was very slow to drain away in the bath. TV too small. Plenty of mirrors, but none lit well enough for makeup. Got back to hotel at half past midnight rang the bell to be let in several times but we're left standing waiting to get in with another couple for ages before someone finally turned up to let us in. We had been out, had a few drinks, walked back to the hotel, and both of us needed to use a toilet, not wait ages to be let in. I feel someone should have been available on reception to let us in. Just not good enough, luckily it was a warm night and not raining !

Wee on toilet seat collapsing sealing in bathroom couldn’t open windows was woken by shouting at 7am and then again at 730 by someone ramming vacuum into my door on a Sunday morning

Shower broke and bathroom was leaking , given a room to use for shower and wasn’t just transferred rooms completely

Excellent location on the seafront and within walking distance of lots of restaurants. Discounted parking is available in the nearby multi storey, but make sure to add this when you are checking in.
Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by the night porter's unprofessionalism.
After returning from dinner, we were questioned about a genuine Booking.com mistake where I'd accidentally booked our double room for one guest instead of two. We apologised immediately and offered to pay any difference, but were refused entry and told multiple times one of us would have to sleep in the car and my partner was even suggested to be my “staff" carrying my bags which is why the mistake had not been noticed at check in. After some time and getting upset we were allowed to our room.
The assistant manager the following morning was excellent, explained there was no issue or extra charge, yet the same night porter lectured us about it again when we returned the next evening after our concert despite the issue being resolved. It left us feeling very uncomfortable and unwelcome.
It's a shame, because the location is fantastic and the assistant manager's professionalism showed how the situation could have been handled.
Located bang in the middle of Torquay with the harbour right by your side! a short walk from the main strip and lots of things to do in and around the area
No onsite parking although this is stipulated, Another guest must have fallen asleep with the TV on what sounded like full blast until I suppose someone had had enough and banged on the door (4am) But not the hotels fault at all ...

First of all the location is excellent as it’s very close to the seafront and shops. We went on a boat tour and the meeting point was at the harbour which was literally a few minutes walk away from the hotel so it was very convenient for us. The staff we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. (Two gentleman on reception) the room was very clean and spacious, the beds really comfortable. We had a great nights sleep. Plenty of teas & coffees in the room which was great. Didn’t get the chance to eat at the restaurant but the menu looked great.
The room decor was a little worn and torn, could do with some tlc and the lift was slow.
The location
The smell coming from the soil pipe in the bathroom and the heat was not a good combination, we couldn’t stay in the room due to the smell, the pressure was so bad on the shower and tapes.
