No wifi details given when checking in. Assumption would be in the room. They were not. Website states a dropping off point whillst checking in. There isn't

Whilst the room had a good sea view, the main road passed directly below and the windows were not very soundproof

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The view from or room was very nice overlooking the the gardens and the harbour. We also enjoyed the evening entertainment on the 3 nights. The location is excellent for the harbour and its amenities, especially for disabled/limited mobility guests, which we were, and made up a little for the hotels shortcomings.
The whole hotel is in need of some TLC and is quite dated. Whilst our room was clean the carpet was very stained and could do with a deep clean/replacement.
The lift is something else and as the hotel caters mainly for coach tours when they arrived there was a very long wait for the lift which had a mind of its own as to which floor it stopped at.
Breakfast was very poor with only basic cooked choices, dirty buffet area, cold barely cooked bacon and was certainly not worth the £24 I paid for my wife and myself.
The bar staff didn't appear to be enjoying their job. I understand it can get quite stressful when it's busy, but there was barely a smile and the service was very surly, we felt a bit like an inconvenience, maybe it was because we were not part of a coach party who had cards that were ticked for drinks where we were paying by card or cash, they could have been a bit more friendly.
I found the hotel clean, comfortable, and very pleasant staff.

A shower cubicle would have been nice as my Nan was able to access the shower over the bath.

No Lift from third floor to ground floor and very poor lighting in third floor corridoors.
Location was good and in centre of Torquay big room
The room was way too hot to be in and was like a sauna at night to sleep in. Fans in the room did not help either. Not many plug sockets for us to charge phones even though it’s a family room.

It was scruffy throughout. Shower cubicle tiny, water flow pathetic & took 5 mins with sink tap on to decrepit temperature.
Long in need of an upgrade/ redecoration. Large hotel with one small lift ( max 4 persons) resulted in queueing for it!!!
Perfect for what we needed. Hotel staff on the front desk were brilliant.
Bit noisy outside in the early hours when the clubs kicked out. But then again what do you expect from a seaside town on a Saturday night…
