Pros:

This was like a piece of tranquil paradise in the middle of Galle Fort. It’s excellently located for exploring the fort and the building is beautifully preserved and offers excellent and spacious accommodation. We loved the room with a garden balcony, as we could watch and hear the world go by from the comfort of our room. The staff are so kind and offer many great tips for places to see inside the fort and were always in hand to make our stay extra special. Breakfast is very sizeable with many options. We will definitely be back!

deluxe villa in historic Galle
Pros:

Wow, we are lucky to have found the Taru Villas group and the 3rd property of theirs on our trip around Sri Lanka was more like staying in a luxury 5 star private catered villa with 2 to 1 staff to clients ratio! Beautiful period property, amazing staff and great food. Highly recommended!!

Pros:

Pros:

This hotel is truly a little gem! Staying here felt like having our own villa in Galle Fort. With only four rooms, we had the pleasure of occupying the spacious upstairs room, which was beautifully furnished in a charming colonial style.

The bathroom was equally impressive—spacious and well-appointed, featuring both a luxurious shower and a lovely bathtub.

Breakfast is served at a communal table in the stunning garden, which adds to the delightful experience. The staff were incredibly courteous and helpful; they even arranged for us to spend a beach day at another Taru Villa property, which we greatly appreciated.

I highly recommend this hotel—we loved every moment of our stay!

Pros:

Tranquil heritage hotel with historic features and beautiful decor. Warm and welcoming staff. The poolside rooms are set within a relaxing courtyard garden. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Would recommend the delicious Sri Lankan breakfast, and afternoon tea by the pool. Perfect for a one night stay, would happily have stayed longer.

Pros:

One of the most unique heritage properties that we have stayed at. We particularly enjoyed the communal approach to dining with the other guests on the same table.

Taru Villas on Rampart Street is an unbelievably wonderful property to stay in.
The bedroom and architecture are simply stunning. The staff are fantastic.
We stayed on HB basis… the evening meal was amazing… truly amazing.
This boutique hotel is one of the best anywhere in the world… an absolute must visit.

Pros:

Unfortunately this property is not upto standard like other taru villa properties I stayed in during the course of my trip . Sewage smell coming from the expensive sea view room which may I add had no view of the sea just trees which is misleading for the company to falsely advertise and as such charge more for this category of room There was a hair on my bed upon check in and the room had an outdated fan and system which meant the temperature could not be regulated and it was placed above the bed which led to a sleepless night and noise keeping us awake from this. The same went for the bathroom which was so hot with a noisy fan. The food was not the best and rice was served cold.staff were trying to help but communication issues didn’t yield much hope to resolve.

Pros:

Best place I stayed at during my trip. The only thing I might suggest is to add thin privacy curtains to rooms that look out onto the pool (rather than having to pull across the heavier curtains and blocking out the natural daylight. Other than that just about 10/10

Pros:

We enjoyed our stay at the villa! Beautifully appointed, excellent service and the food/chef was so great that I came back to the house for lunch twice. We were really lucky to not have the villa at full capacity when we were there so it was very quiet and at times felt like we had the whole villa to ourselves. Traveling from the USA and would highly recommend.

Pros:

Stunning property in Galle Fort. With only 4 rooms it feels very exclusive. The pool view room was huge and the balcony was a great spot for relaxing and watching the monkeys playing in the trees.
The staff are superb and the pool (not common in local hotels) is an added bonus when temperatures get too hot.
Perfectly situated for the landmarks, shops and sea I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Would certainly choose this hotel if coming back to Galle

Pros:

Taru Villas was without doubt the best accommodation we stayed in on our recent visit to Sri Lanka. The poolside room was well furnished and air conditioned. The bathroom was roomy with a huge shower. Toiletries and hairdryer are provided too. The villa is beautifully furnished and you feel like you are a guest in a family home rather than a hotel. The breakfast was outstanding. Fresh fruit juice accompanied a plate of mixed tropical fruit, this was followed
by your choice from the menu (the eggs florentine are amazing). Croissants and toast were washed down with coffee or tea. The staff are the most friendly and welcoming young men, they were incredibly kind and helpful. We were able to have a late checkout too. I would recommend Taru Villas to anyone visiting Galle.

Pros:

I recently spent two nights at Taru Villas and had a truly memorable experience. The colonial property is exquisitely maintained, echoing both charm and elegance. My room was beautifully appointed, providing a relaxing haven. I was especially appreciative of the staff's kindness and consideration, particularly in their care for my daughter who wasn't feeling her best. The cuisine was outstanding. As a female guest, I felt completely secure during my stay, even when alone. My gratitude to the entire team. Highly recommended.
