Pros:

Location, facilities, and staff were excellent.

Cons:

The only negative I have, is that the breakfast was below par. Eggs Benedicts was dry. Scrambled eggs were overcooked, and toast must have been sitting around for a while before being brought out, as was soggy.

Delightful & charming heritage with a pool & the best location
Pros:

Such a delightfully charming heritage building and location! We booked to "seaview" room - (which did not have a seaview at all but a view of the street in front & trees. 😂) It is a beautiful room, light & bright with a huge, huge, beautiful bathroom, everything tastefully heritage but modern where modern is needed.
The breakfast was excellent, the staff particularly lovely & friendly & we felt at home. The pool is great, being big enough & really good & deep in parts & there's an undercover lounge beside it, as well as the 4 sunloungers. We loved staying inside Galle Fort & being able to roam at will & return in minutes to the cool & peace of our hotel. It was a great experience.

Cons:

Only that there are no tea & coffee making facilities in the room. A tea or coffee will be provided by the staff but at 6.45am I just want to make myself a coffee, not talk to anyone. 😁

Beautiful and peaceful.
Pros:

Private, elegant, peaceful, restful and very relaxing plus the staff were all exceptionally helpful and thoughtful, the food outstanding and the pool was superb. It was a great location and oasis to wake up to and retreat to after a day exploring Galle Fort.

A small and charming hotel perfectly located in Galle Fort, right where everything happens and in one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in the city.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Breakfast was generous and tasty, although a little spicy for our taste. The service was top-notch throughout our stay, with a very welcoming and attentive team.

We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel!

Cons:

The swimming pool could use a little more attention and regular cleaning, as it didn’t feel as well maintained as the rest of the hotel.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Taru Villas sehr genossen. Es ist ein wunderschöner, ruhiger Ort zum Entspannen. Das gesamte Team, vor allem Roan, hat uns das Gefühl gegeben, von Anfang an herzlich willkommen zu sein. Wir haben die Zeit in Ihrem Haus sehr geschätzt. Es war definitiv die schönste Unterkunft während unserer Sri-Lanka-Reise. Wir werden Ihr Haus sehr gerne und wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

A fabulous small luxury hotel well located inside Galle Fort
Pros:

This was fabulous, from the gates to the welcome and only 4 rooms. We booked a poolside room which. I definitely recommend. The staff, location, breakfast and we even got to meet a wild group of monkeys who came to visit making it even more special.

A chance to experience colonial living in Galle
Pros:

This was a stunning property which gave you a real feel for colonial life in historic Galle. A fabulous location opposite the fort walls and sea and a great base for exploring.
The property is maintained to a very high standard and the pool was immaculate even though we didn’t use it.
The team were very attentive to our needs and left us a gorgeous chocolate cake on our last night which was most appreciated.
We had dinner at the Villas one night which was a wonderful Sri Lanka feast and breakfast was delicious on both days.

Traditional feel with 5 star service
Pros:

The property was very clean, tidy and well presented with a homely feel. The location was great - right in the centre of Galle fort area. The staff were super helpful and friendly.

Cons:

There was nothing not to like although ‘sea view’ was pushing it a bit - maybe if you stood on a chair in exactly the right spot you would be able to see the sea !! However, this did not detract from our stay.

Pros:

Very nice boutique hotel. The staff was excellent and polite. The breakfast was delicious and customised as per one's choice. Very well located right in the heart of Galle Fort with easy walking access to the restaurants/ bars/ market etc. Extremely satisfied with my stay. Recommend always.

Cons:

Nothing that I can pin point. Yeah the capacity of the aircon should be increased in the 1st floor road facing big bedroom or alternately 1 more aircon should be added immediately.

Oasis in Galle Fort
Pros:

We absolutely loved our stay at Taru Villas Rampart Street. We were welcomed as family by the staff who were so helpful and accommodating throughout. We stayed in the sea view room which had a lovely four poster bed. The room was beautifully decorated and the perfect size for travelling with two children. The pool area was stunning and a lovely place to cool down after waking around the fort. We loved the daily breakfasts and enjoyed a special dinner as a family on our last night. The food was outstanding - some of the best of our trip, especially the curries. We will be back!
