Extremely disappointing stay at Holiday Inn Manchester City Centre.
As an IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite member, I understand that upgrades are subject to availability, but there was absolutely no recognition of my loyalty—no upgrade and no meaningful acknowledgment of my status.
What was far more concerning was the housekeeping. We returned to our room to find it haphazardly cleaned: the bed was not made properly, pillows were left on the floor, towels were draped over a chair, the iron was left out on the table, and even underwear remained on the bathroom floor. It looked as though housekeeping had simply walked out in the middle of cleaning.
When I politely followed up regarding the condition of our room, Oliver, the staff member's response was a dismissive rolling of the eyes, which I found unprofessional and disrespectful.
Most disappointing of all, we checked out this morning without any resolution, apology, or effort to make things right. This experience fell far below the standards I have come to expect from both Holiday Inn and IHG. Unfortunately, this stay left us feeling undervalued as loyal guests and with a very poor impression of the property.
Hotel was modern. Room was a great size. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a good size. Staff were lovely. We were on a higher floor as requested.

Excellent location, very close to Piccadilly Station. Room was perfect for what we needed. Breakfast really good, lots of choice.
Prices had been inflated due to Take That Concert so felt I like the price was quite high for this hotel but I am sure they are not normally this high. Drinks prices at the bar were extortionate! Bedding that had been stripped from previous guests up and down all of the hallways

The location and hotel itself are excellent.
This is advertised as having parking.
On a normal day, there is still a five-minute walk from the used car park..
This is an NCP Car Park where you get a 'discounted' rate of £21 for 24 hours.
Unfortunately, when we went, the roads leading to the Car Park were closed because of bus collection points for Parklife.
We drove around Manchester for over 90 minutes trying to get to the Car Park.
We even spoke to reception, who weren't interested in helping.
Even more frustrating was that once we got parked and to the hotel, we noticed that there was a Car Park directly next door that we could have used, which was £21 with no discount. We mentioned to the hotel that it was much closer and could have saved us a lot of time and anguish if we had known, but they just said that they aren't associated with that one.
It ruined the start to our break and made us late for our initial plans.. When we complained to the reception, we were just told "that is fine!"... Which it really wasn't!
To top this off, we booked a double room as a couple, but we only had 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel!
Very disappointed!
