Very nice room, comfy bed and air con much appreciated. We had dinner and breakfast, both very good with plenty of choice. All the staff very polite, friendly and helpful.
I don’t normally do reviews but felt this stay deserved one Thank you
Could have been a few more tea, coffee and milk, also some fruit tea and decaf coffee which I probably could have got had I asked would I stay again, most definitely and would also recommend to family and friends
Clean, comfy bed
All the stairs
Spacious, clean and comfortable
Staff very friendly. Air conditioning in room.

Well presented rooms. Clean. Air con was a life saver. All amenities located inside the establishment which was great.
Room supplies in the shower & toilet paper weren’t topped up.
The floors within the bar on all levels were left sticky from the previous evenings patrons which made it feel gross. Continental breakfast supplies weren’t kept replenished either.
The flexibility of the staff, ensuring we have a great stay!
Staff were kind,
and atleast the towels were clean and provided toiletries.
Very small old property, very stuffy with old carpets, couldn’t sleep because of the noise from the streets and no proper aeration in the rooms.
The room was very nice and spacious, with air-conditioning (very well on a very hot day).
The breakfast was good, with excellent service.
We ate an evening meal there too, which was good pub food.
Friendly staff and swift check in. Everything explained to us. Room was clean and the air conditioning was very welcome. Good breakfast. Quirky layout which we loved
Some road noise but possibly would normally be quieter as there is a diversion being sent that way
Friendly staff, lovely rooms, the air conditioning was great during the heat wave! Food was excellent, overall cannot fault it!
Beautiful building and room. Clean facilities and very lovely staff.
The staff were exceptionally helpful — they walked us through parking, ordering food on the app, breakfast times and check‑out, which made everything easy. Our spacious family room was super comfortable, with solid soundproofing and effective air‑con.
Dinner in the dining room was good value, and the breakfast added to the room price was well worth it too. Overall, a smooth, comfortable stay with genuinely helpful people.
May not be suitable for guests with mobility issues as this historic hotel has no lift and there are longish walks to some rooms.
The place was clean. The breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly helping with our larger suitcase on the stairs.
Unfortunately, we chose a roast dinner on our arrival on Sunday around 5pm ish which was not very good; the veg had obviously been hanging around the the gravy was 'gloopy'.
We could have done with a full-length mirror in our room. We could have done with a good reading light by the bed.
We hadn't realised that there would be so many stairs, some of which were quite narrow.
