It was very good, if not excellent.
Pros:

The staff are very friendly. I had requested lower floor but when I got there, they had us on the second floor. They happily and quickly charged it. I also noticed 2 full tourist busses come in and the staff handled it great.

Cons:

There was a draft from the window so the heater worked all night but the manager said he would check into it in the morning. I believed him. He seemed truly sincere.

The hotel is okay but I would likely search alternatives in Decorah.
Pros:

Breakfast and seating for breakfast was very good. No complaints about the temperature control. We didn't use the refrigerator or microwave but that is a good amenity if one stays more than one day. We asked the front desk if there was an extra suitcase rack and they gave us one. I think all rooms with two beds or king beds should have two suitcase racks...otherwise furniture may be marred by extra suitcase.

Cons:

Size of bathroom was disappointing. Because of the small size, toilet tissue was poorly placed (a reach backwards). Also, we had two adults in the room and only one chair which was an uncomfortable desk chair. The previous hotel I stayed at (a Best Western) was so much better with adequate seating and lighting for reading, as well as bathroom layout. Thus, I was disappointed given the price level of this hotel. Luckily, we had a first floor room. I didn't notice an elevator but noticed stairs into the lobby area. If there was no elevator, that would be a huge negative.

THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD WITH CHANGING RESERVATION DATES.
Cons:

We made this reservation on Booking.com. We needed to change the date we were staying. We were told to contact the property directly, and we did 3 days before our original arrival date. I spoke with a male and he said that he would just change the arrival date from Monday to Wednesday (October 20 to the 22nd.) When we arrived they had no record of the change in the reservation. They also did not have a king sized room, and a double queen room would be about $20 more than our original cost. THEN WE WERE CHARGED FOR THE MONDAY NIGHT FOR NOT CONTACTING THE PROPERTY & WE HAD TO STAY AT A DIFFERENT HOTEL AND PAY AGAIN!!!! (ORIGINAL RESERVATION #5998720872 Nancy Holty)
