The food was incredibly good both breakfast and dinner.
The sea view was beautiful - as described.
There was a welcoming sports bar next door.
The room was up 3 flights of stairs and no lift available. We are in our late 70s but we managed.
We booked a superior room but this was an attic room with many sloping ceilings where we seemed to keep bumping our heads!
Also being an attic room it was incredibly hot, though there was a fan available which we used.
Paying £1500 for a 5 night stay I would have expected a change of bedding.
This hotel.is a mile and a half from St Ives along a bus route that is very regular. St Ives is fabulous and worth a visit with its many hidden gems.
Our room was two houses down from the main property. Access was by stairs only. Room was pleasant and clean lovely decor and king size bed.
Bathroom had old style standalone bath and shower was on wall at this. However you have to climb into the bath to use shower and it is high.
Breakfast was fabulous with good menu choice.
Walk in shower and less stairs.
Lovely staff, great food, good location
Our room had a window above the toilet with a blind that didn’t work - we could see the neighbours on the balcony whilst we used the bathroom.
We stayed at The Gannet Inn in Carbis Bay. It was a fantastic trip. We added on Half Board in case we wanted to eat in. We made the right decision The food is absolutely fantastic I cannot recommend it highly enough. The room was lovely. The staff were so lovely. All in all a great stay.
We went on Monay 15 Jun and returned today,
Clean and very friendly staff
The room we stayed in was right above the kitchens. Very noisy until 11.00pm and then noisy from 6.00am. So didn’t get a lot of sleep. Slamming of doors
Great food.
Further away from beach than expected and on a very steep slope.
Great location, on bus route. Hotel and facilities were excellent. Food was lovely. What really made this place great are the staff, they are super friendly and nothing is too much for them.
No cereal..
Enjoyed my stay here. Private but B&B feel and hospitality. Restaurant was an exceed expectations. Breakfast well worth it to start the day. Quality dinner menu and found more enjoyable to end my day at the restaurant. Tip: If traveling by train utilize the Carbis Bay stop before the St. Ives, 10 minute walk vs 35 minute (although very pleasant) from St. Ives, especially when arriving or departing with your luggage. Easy couple minute ride to St Ives. Carbis Bay also convient to St Erth to see more of Cornwall.
The customer service throughout the property was exceptional. Always a smiling face and always ready to help and answer questions. There was a lady at the reception (I wish I caught her name) she was really helpful, always going above and beyond. Free parking for guests, good breakfast always hot. The room was comfortable with a great view. Being the sister hotel of the Carbis Bay Estate it was amazing to use the spa facilities there!
Having booked a table for 3, when we arrived we informed the greeter that it was now just the 2 of us and requested the same table as husband and I need to sit next to each other (he has hearing difficulties)
The server/greeter (with a high degree of attitude) shoved 2 tiny round tables towards each other and thats where we were seated - one each!
Not impressed
Husband’s chicken tikka korma was decidedly uninspiring, dry and tasteless.
My lasagne was fine, but the garlic flatbread was large, dry and a very weird accompaniment to a lasagne
We’re all different, but I certainly wouldn’t return, or recommend
Food in the Hotel was excellent especially Sunday Dinner.
My wife dropped something which rolled under the bed out of reach. So I pulled the bed forward away from the wall.. There was an old used tissue,a tablet, a info card and the skirting board was thick dust. The shower cubicle door didn't close which let water out . There was already water damage to the door and architrave. So its been like it a while.
Es gab vom Zimmer aus eine weite Aussicht auf das Meer - das Hotel liegt aber an einer Straße oberhalb der Küste. Wer eine Unterkunft am Strand sucht, ist hier falsch.
