The room was tired and the floor was very very creaky

The lift was not working and as our room was on the 3rd floor carrying our bags up was difficult as we are an older couple. I would have expected some assistance with our luggage.

Without question, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We booked two rooms, and the condition of the hotel was appalling. The photographs on Booking.com bear little resemblance to the reality of the accommodation.

There was mould on the ceilings, flaking paintwork, dirty and poorly maintained hallways, creaking floors, wires protruding from a mattress, visible wiring outside the window and even a bathroom window being held open with a shower mat. One of our rooms had no towels on arrival. The entire property was extremely dated and in a very poor state of repair.

After a lengthy discussion with staff, during which we were initially told no alternative rooms were available, we were eventually offered another room. This was also unsuitable and bore little resemblance to the rooms advertised online.

I find it astonishing that this property is advertised as a three-star hotel. In my opinion, its condition is closer to dereliction than anything resembling an acceptable hotel standard.

We subsequently raised a formal complaint with Booking.com, supported by photographic evidence, but the hotel refused to offer any refund or compensation, relying on its non-refundable booking policy.

**My biggest criticism is not simply the poor condition of the hotel, but how misleading the advertised photographs are compared with the actual accommodation.** Had we known the true condition of the property, we would never have booked.

I would strongly advise anyone considering staying here to look very carefully at recent guest photographs and reviews before booking.

The lift was not working.

Unfortunately, the room was dirty. The bathroom bin had not been emptied after the previous guests and was overflowing with used sanitary pads. There was mould in the bathroom, and the shower tiles had not been cleaned properly.

Only problem lift was out of order but I did receive a email the day before explaining the lift situation.

Where to start. Reception poor and although not her fault I’m not paying £10 for the privilege to park onsite. It used to be first come first served. So don’t take my card details and then assume I’m paying for the parking. Lift broken (and by the looks of the signage it had been a while) stair corridors were awful, loudly walks, cracked walls and really in need of a good paint.
Room ok apart from the heat. Room 207. Watch your head in the toilet. Low ceilings to bump your head on. Plugs right behind the bed which had to be pulled out so could actually turn the bed side lamp on and room a sauna all night. Windows opened about 3 inches. Poor all round tbh

No hairdryer in room asked at reception they had none. Wall next to bed grimy asked for a change of room they couldn’t accommodate me said they would inform housekeeping. Room was dreary. Bathroom was newly done and lovely.

cracking selling in the bedroom, wall paper going off everywhere around the hotel and in the room. Bathroom in very poor condition. Overal hotel is in poor unecaptable condition.

It’s doing its best but it’s very tired . Breakfast adequate.
Had to prop bedroom window open with wooden blocks supplied. Very warm and £10 for parking excessive.

I think they should have bar snacks available during the day for customers that don’t want big dinners at set times
