Great overnight getaway. Front desk was very helpful. Was frankly surprised that the hotel charges $55 per night to park for reserved guests.
Great hotel! So much going on! Live music, movies, bowling, food and more. Great pool with great food and cocktails. Coffee pastries and sandwiches all day in the lobby. Special shout out to Isabel at the pool, James at the front desk and Jessica t The Counter.
Overpriced for the size of the room. Very small
Heard the band playing until 2 am. Bass penetrated room
Needs to be refreshed. Stains on rugs. Stains on sheets
Sulfa smell in the bathroom though the shower was nice
Bed comfortable
Towels very nice
Staff excellent and very accommodating
Loved the boutique atmosphere, decor and amenities. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Allowing us to continue to use the pool after checkout is a great touch.
There is no sign on the outside of the building; I had to drive around for a while before I found the entrance. There is really no food except for snacks. The Asbury Lanes is NOT part of the hotel. There is a single 6' pool table. The pool is small and has no spa. There is a huge condo construction project (until 2028) across the street. There is no gay culture. Really no vibe of any kind. Way overpriced; plus undisclosed resort fee.
Price was little high but service was good
Price was a little high side
My stay itself was okay nothing really stood out, and I had no complaints during my visit. Unfortunately, what happened after I checked out completely changed my impression of this hotel.
I accidentally left a brand-new outfit hanging in the closet and realized it the very next day. I immediately called the hotel and then followed up two more times, for a total of three calls. Every time, I was told that nothing had been turned in to the lost and found and that housekeeping hadn't found anything.
Having worked in the hotel industry myself, I understand how lost-and-found procedures are generally handled, which is why I find it extremely difficult to believe that a brand-new outfit hanging in a closet simply vanished without anyone seeing or reporting it. I contacted the hotel promptly, yet no one was able to account for what happened to my belongings.
For the price I paid to stay here, I expected a much higher level of professionalism, accountability, and care. Whether this was a breakdown in the hotel's lost-and-found process or a failure to properly handle guest property, the outcome is the same: my belongings disappeared, and no one could provide any explanation.
It's disappointing because the stay itself wasn't bad, but the way this situation was handled overshadowed. I hope management takes a serious look at its lost-and-found procedures so future guests don't have the same experience.
RJ the new Supervisor helped us find a room at the last minute. He was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. All of the front desk and house keeping staff were helpful as well. Highly recommend this hotel!
Although it was a bit pricey, the location was great. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were really nice.
We have loved the asbury from day one, but this trip, we felt the asbury we love may be gone
The live music is gone
the open mike shows are gone
the pour your own cream in your coffee is gone
I love dogs, but if the asbury wants to be a dog friendly hotel, they should fine owners of very badly behaved dogs who bark loudly and endlessly ruining any chance of rest for the other guests and leave dog poops on the carpeting. Wow, not fun.
We love the hotel and the lobby and music and other events often happening in the hotel. We have noticed in the past few years a decline in the professionalism and courtesy and competence in the staff, especially the staff hired to work in the beverage and food areas of the hotel including the lobby and the diner. There are other noticeable cost-cutting measures that have appeared at the hotel over the last few year since if I am not mistaken new management has taken over.
Went to visit 19 year old daughter's friend who lives in the area and to check out beach and a bit of music history. Fabulous hotel, great amenities. Loved the pool, rooftop bar, and general vibe.
Always great to be back at this hotel! The rooms are clean and comfy and the other guests are a nice mix of people. It’s not too loud or crazy at the pool, there is good food and cocktails at the hotel without having to leave for breakfast or lunch . We walked to restaurants nearby for dinner. The beach is only a block away and if you have a dog you’ll be so excited to go to the dog beach a few blocks away it’s literally the happiest place on earth.
We will be back
We wanted to love this hotel...it has some good design sense and the front desk staff are all lovely and helpful.
The rooms are a bit dated (10 years old now, mattresses need a refresh). We had a panoramic suite.
Sadly the valet service was horrible (one guy on duty during summer!) and so waits were frequent. When asking others to assist were told 'oh he'll be back...'
The bar on the roof was buzzy and interesting.
Unfortunately there is a huge construction site in front of the hotel and pile drivers began their noise at 8 am (weekends included).
Finally the pool was unswimmable. They are not maintaining the chemicals properly for the heat and load on the pool in terms of number of guests using it
The pool clearly needed some kind of a shock treatment (who wants to go in a murky pool?) See photo.
Great for a 3 night Beach getaway with two tween boys, Had everything we needed and we loved the pool. We would definitely come back.
Our second time, and we love staying at the Asbury! The hotel is funky, clean, fully stocked, and welcoming. Something for everyone in the lobby: pool table, pinball, music, bar, food/coffee. The rooms are a good size with modern Scandi furnishings, useful amenities like USB outlets and makeup cloths, and excellent shower products. Totally beach-friendly, and housecleaning really helped us out with any remaining sand! And the pool scene totally makes it for me: both family-friendly and cool/sexy. But the top draw for me is the staff, who are super friendly and laid-back yet always eager to make sure our stay is the ultimate vacation. Special shout-outs to Dominique at the front desk (whose patience is as endless as her smile) and Theresa at the pool bar and Salvation rooftop (we fell for her painkillers first but came back for her personality!).
The hotel is one block from the beach/ boardwalk, with amenities like pool table, bowling alley, bar, and more! The front lobby is so attractive, you just don't want to have to go up to your room :)
We ended up just paying for street parking , which was very affordable and convenient. The rooms are cute with a record player, comfy beds, nice large bathroom and mini fridges. Just note that there is no coffee maker in the smaller rooms.
The staff are fabulous and I'd certainly recommend.
Great location close to beach and boardwalk and Ocean grove. Cool atmosphere. Record player and vinyl library for added nostalgia and fun Loved the rooftop bar with spectacular views! Clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff
