Very reasonable, wonderful location
Pros:

Staff all lovely, couldn't do enough for you. Everything very clean, lovely location

Cons:

Limited menus, duvets no overhang too small and we are not large people. Old building windows wouldn't open. No blackout curtain in bathroom so anyone outside in the evening would have a lovely view if you put the light on .

Great location, but sorely disappointed by the hotel we had promised to visit for years.
Pros:

Breakfast was ok, however on both days the food was not hot only warm

Cons:

The room we were first given RM 215 had damp on all the walls. The bathroom was covered in mould around the walls, shower, toilet and window. We were moved to room 15 bigger and brighter but both rooms well below the standard of the rooms shown on advertising pictures.

There was nothing I really disliked. Possibly the overspill dining room is a wee bit bleak but there was a wedding on and staff very busy.

Very good few days
Pros:

A period hotel that is doing its best to stay good and is winning.

Cons:

Room 101 was a little sparse but very clean and acceptable.
Breakfast was a bit hit and miss.

Portpatrick Hotel is Poorpatrick
Pros:

The parking.

Cons:

No phone, no iron, no safe, breakfast was awful, staff are as slow as a week in jail.
We waited 15 minutes to check out before a member of staff appeared at the reception desk.
The hot breakfast food was reheats, the fruit & yogurt consisted of whole Satsumas & a bowl of yogurt.

Breakfast was adequate. Hotel was clean and staff helpful.

Cons:

Breakfast was adequate. Hotel was very tired. Showers had nearly no water. Furnishings on its last legs.No diet coke or Carlsberg as taps were covered,empty in the bar. It's been lovely but worn out now.

Fab weekend
Pros:

All staff friendly and welcoming, we ate in restaurant for dinner both nights food was good and good price. In the bar each night few drinks. All good we had a lovely weekend.

Pros:

Staff were excellent went out of their way to accommodate our needs when the accommodation I had booked for my two elderly and disabled companions was totally unsuitable.

Cons:

I appreciate that this is a large old hotel which requires a lot of maintenance but whilst the bedrooms were lovely some parts of the hotel were very tired and in need of refurbishment
