The Maverick by Kasa

Location was great. I had cocktails and dessert in the restaurant onsite and enjoyed a performance at the nearby Kelly Strayhorn Theater. My first night I walked to Bakery Sq. and had dinner and drinks with family.
Room was spacious and comfortable. At night I could see the sunset from one window dnd awakened to a beautiful sunrise through the other. Created a wonderful atmosphere.
Check in was seamless. I accessed the concierge locker with ease. Noise levels was minimal, despite being close to lots of nightlife.
Great stay! Great value! Will definitely stay again.

One of the worst stays and cleanliness at the hotel or a hotel I have stayed at. Zero help from staff and they dont care at all. Trying to get help to check in non existent. Parking description pre booking is very poor. Phone system and ai phone system not very helpful and ling wait.

Room was dirty towels had bodily fluid on them.

Awesomeness place to stay great price and perfect location. The atmosphere was very nice. The room was very clean and new.

Lovely little stay. The location is awesome. Walking distance from lots of local restaurants and bars. The vibe of the room gave college dorm, which made the stay feel so much less official in all the best ways. The room was eclectic! It was clean, towels were thick and comfy. And the team helped me so much by resolving a mistake I made prior to check in that really saved me from a miserable time in Pittsburgh. So nice that I could just go to my room without doing the long and drawn out front desk stuff that you often go through in a traditional hotel. But I still had all the support I needed throughout my trip. Quiet, peaceful, and I’ll absolutely be returning. No real amenities, but the restaurant downstairs was a delight.

Everything was great. Very quiet and comfortable. Plushy towels too. My only challenge was getting a receipt, which finally came after texting that request twice.

Very clean hotel. Easy virtual check in. I got here late (after 10pm) so it was nice to just click and be checked in. No keys. Opened the door with my phone. Easy parking on the street. Lots of businesses around so it was pretty quiet.
Room was super spacious. Very clean. Nice area to make coffee or sit to eat.i didn't do either but the space was there. Extremely affordable given the space. Cool and unique furniture. Big bathroom.

Super friendly and great location. Our room was very clean and we appreciated the snacks and water that were complimentary. The location is excellent and we will visit again when in Pittsburgh!

My stay at Kasa The Maverick was an absolute nightmare, built on deception and defined by dangerous physical flaws. Their "24/7 Virtual Support" is a complete and utter joke; this is not a hotel, it's a liability.

The Service Lies (The Kasa Experience Sham)

The support model is designed only to delay and lie, not help. When I couldn't sleep on the rock-hard, 6-inch mattress (which they acknowledge is an issue), they refused a topper and told me to get "extra blankets" from the supposed "concierge closet." I immediately reported that the closet was completely empty. Their "support" responded by lying repeatedly, claiming a non-existent on-site team was handling the request, wasting over 30 minutes of my time with scripted excuses. The team's final action was to demand a 4.5-hour window for inspectors to enter my unit for an unannounced fire alarm check, showing zero respect for guest privacy or time while completely ignoring my basic comfort needs.

Physical Hazards and Discomfort

Beyond the service scam, the rooms are unfinished, loud, and uncomfortable. The floors are raw, cold concrete, the refrigerator buzzes loudly enough to prevent sleep, and the hallways have large sections of exposed wiring and piping, which is frankly dangerous and unacceptable. This entire unit is unfit for human sleep or habitation.

I am posting this review while still at the property and I am still waiting for any legitimate response or solution. Do yourself a huge favor and spend your money at any other establishment in Pittsburgh. This place is a scam.

The our room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay! Loved the body wash/lotion offerings. The check-in process was very easy, and the staff were incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our visit. We especially loved the incredible views of the church and the convenient walking distance to great restaurants and coffee shops.

Do be mindful that there are a few homeless individuals in the surrounding area, particularly on the outskirts of the hotel. That said, the neighborhood felt overall safe, so just stay aware of your surroundings and you’ll be fine.

Overall, a great experience and we’ll definitely stay here again!

Amazing stay! The location is great, the room was spotless and comfortable, and every detail was perfect. Truly my favorite spot to stay in Pittsburgh — can’t wait to come back!

This was my second stay at The Maverick in Pittsburgh. The atrium king room was clean, quiet and the mattress was perfect! On-street parking though it's a good neighborhood so you don't need to worry. Great place to stay because it's so close to downtown.

I even had a hand-written card waiting for me when I arrived!! :)

Converted YMCA, so rooms are spacious. No kitchen other than a fridge, but otherwise, a great find. Close to shopping and local library is next door, if you just want to get out of the building.

Great stay with super easy access with the automated check in and out. Good location and easy to navigate to all the main sites in Pittsburgh.

Love this location it’s in a city center of its own.

Clean room, easy access, and quiet building!

Vibrant area, with lots of shops and restaurants. There is a city parking lot behind the hotel. No technology problems. Great bar in the lobby.
The rooms are very quiet. There was a huge boisterous wedding on the first floor and we couldn't hear a peep in our room.

Was a very pleasant stay and the room accommodations were very nice
