its filthy as filthy can get. bed bugs . roaches . smelly. i will not recommend this to anyone. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GARBAGE CAN.

The property was dirty and run down! The front desk was rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend this place at all.

Please teach some manners to your manager i dont know why you people appointed such a short-tempered staff as a manager he dont even know how to deal with customers

It is very near to the baniyas square metro station. Most of the hotels nearby charge alot as they are very near to main market. You can book this hotel online and can get good discount. Good food joints nearby.

The location of hotel is in "old Dubai" where are not so many tourists. The hotel is "low cost" type and not really cosy. On the other hand it's chill out place where you can spend the night for reasonable price. The neighbourhood is full of Indian and Pakistani people so the atmosphere is like in India. On the other hand the staff was helpful and fine. So to sum the review up - when you're on budget or backpacker, OK choice.

To tell the truth, I booked this hotel before I read the reviews. After I read them and afraid a little bit from this hotel. But at the end everything was ok. At first we get a room with small bugs in the bathroom, but they change a room. The room was clean, the bathroom ok (a little bit with moulds), the staff nice and helpful (want nice review for hotel - they said). Only the air-conditioning is strangely old, but there is an old ventilator on the selling as a solution. If you are on a budget, this hotel is ideal for you - it is near to metro and bus station, also to souks, to abra station, it is in the centre of Dubai, what more you want? There is shop near here and an automat for drinking water in the lobby.

Very rude and disappointing staff and management. Avoid at all costs, it is a place for labor workers and cheap girls of the night, when I tried to cancel this booking they did not even refund the rest of the four unused nights. It is a very cheap hotel that is not even good if you are alone!

Booked the hotel as it was close to the WTC. Was on business for the Automekanica show in Dubai. Booked the Downtown Hotel on the net. Very disappointing as there is no where on the booking site that it is a "DIY" hotel. No laundry service, no bathroom accessories as simple as a shower cap. Very curt staff. No concierge facility. Had to drag our own bags up to the rooms. Tiny box rooms.... No 24 hour coffee shop. So indirectly no food round the clock. So all in all is very disappointing.

The moment we went into the room, we spotted many live bedbugs. Also, the bed linen was full of blood strains from bed bugs. Therefore, we did not check into this hotel.
I Would sincerely not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially when travelling with family.

I booked this hotel on a business trip to dubai. It was a budget trip. I got an offer from bookings.com that saved about 33%. So booked with them. The room I got on check in was horrible. The AC was not working and also the room had a serious bed bugs infestation, I complained and they gave me a new room which was better. Atleast the AC worked and also to my luck it was better maintained.

IF you are looking for a budget hotel this is acceptable. The location is quite interior but you will find taxi to commute. Overall you can stay here if you can bargain for a better room.

What a truly horrendous dive of a place this is. The photos (I had the misfortune of staying in the brochure picture room) do nothing for the truly grim reality of this disgusting place. It is possibly the worst excuse of a hotel (I lived in China for a year too!) I've ever had the dire luck of staying at. The room is nowhere near the size they try to make out on the photos and the fridge and wardrobe are both filthy and they stink. If you hung your clothes up there you would smell like a sewer when you went out in them. Forget about leaving food in the fridge!

Believe it or not, there were three huge gobs of old, dried phlegm above the bed (pics included as proof) and a smearing of snot by the light switch, which I saw when I woke up the day after I'd booked in. I asked the receptionist to have it cleaned while I went shopping, yet after he promised to have been done, it was still there. I booked out immediately and am now staying at the Star Metro Hotel, which was a tiny bit more expensive but a million times better. Review on the way for this one.

Do yourselves a favour, stay well away from this hovel. Horrid, horrid place.
